The Word Gamble...20 Aug 2025 07:28
Having that word upfront and centre best illustrates certain persons approach to the Stock Market.
Of course there is a 'risk' every time we cross the road - but someone looking for a stock as a medium-long term 'investment' doesn't think in terms of a 'gamble'.
Those that 'trade' in the market, whether short or near term - look at the margins between buy / sell and make calculated risks accordingly - some they get right some don't but overall they make a living, or make a living for their companies and depending how good they are reap their requisite benefits.
Shorter's however, spend their time looking for companies to bad mouth undermine - start / spread -(usually 'unfounded) rumours', whatever the outcome for investors or more importantly the companies they decide to deride...
Let's say, you're in trouble as your 50% away from a target price you need to get out without losing your(companies) shirt. I hear there's a bunch of orders sitting at "x" and it's going down over the next several days... Now let's say you've a SIPP that's about to close as your retirement about to hit and you get out a direct result- - only it doesn't materialise and it gains another 20%...
So no, I'm sorry but using Gamble upfront tells you all you need to know about using that word in regard to the stock market - beware of those constantly bad mouthing a stock - they do not have a share holders interest at heart - no matter what comes out of their words = actions, speak louder than words.
Have a great day guys, and please remember those who believe in the tech and this company always to dyor, ignore those constantly singing 'doom and gloom' when facts and upcoming pipeline scream the total opposite - hold, accrue when the doom and gloom push the SP below your 'value" price, and act to whatever your particular timeline is.
