I had a cold caller this week suggesting they could save me money on my energy bill, as I was already looking so I let them go over their offering.

I didn't take up their deal as I found I could save 20% more for my total gas and electric with a green supplier who supply 100% renewable electricity and greener gas.

What did surprise was to find out was Shell recently have purchased a utilities company:

I do wonder if we will see BP become a battey manufacturer and if so will they want their own lithium?

For example, BP has launched its first battery storage project with Tesla at one of its wind farms in the US to look at how the facility's energy can be stored and then used when not being produced.

Start-up companies, such as BP-partner StoreDot, which is using a new type of electrolyte and nanomaterials in LiBs, could potentially provide car manufacturers with a battery that can be charged in five minutes or less.
