The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Anyone just get a message from their broker to say its delisted? HL just messaged to inform me that RDGC delisted on 7th January.
Nice timely update there, cheers lads
Unfortunately I think this is one to check in on monthly, maybe even quarterly, rather than daily or weekly now, lol... I don't know much about listing on Aquis, but assuming it's anything like main or alternative markets, probably going to be a good few months before any of us have any inkling what's going on
Further evidence if its needed, that the market only cares, inordinately, about the sgsc trials and doesn't seem to pay to much heed to anything else...
Appreciate that the AZ trial is the main event at the moment, but god, I was hoping to see at least a .01 increase from this news...
Seems to be a pretty solid deal for us- worst case scenario is 10% interest and capital repayment within a year, and best case is very favorable terms if they ipo... only risk is of solvency- but they seem to be reassuringly cash generative if im reading it right?
Another one or two of these would go a long way to allaying investor concerns!
You referring to skillcast and northcoders?
I believe they're our two most recent investments, so guessing it's never been updated to mention them
Speaking of which, what happens this bb? Presumably if there's no RDGC, there'll at some point be no RDGC message board... as depressed as I've been by this ride at times, I've found the forum largely insightful- and maybe been buoyed by a bit of beleaguered camraderie as we all watch our money circle the drain >_<
Is anyone registered to actually attend the AGM? It'd be good to know how they explain some of this, and to see if there's any kind of positive slant they can dress it up in...
Have to admit I'm really disappointed in this outcome. Funds tied up until god knows when in, at the moment, God knows what.
Hah... unclejim (no relation), that's pretty much bang on: "I change my mind daily". Every other day it feels like I wake up feeling good about VELA, and thinking I just need to be patient. And every other day I look at it suspiciously and think what am I even still doing here!
Mines only a small punt here- have an uncomfortably large % of my pf tied up in RDGC now though after some daft risky plays elsewhere didn't work out, lol.
Double or nothing JN, don't break me heart ; )
...I'm guessing we'd have to do a CCAP anyway; even if a target had been identified immediately after (or shortly before) October's RNS, I doubt we'd have time to complete before 7th Jan, so would likely be looking at cancellation while deal completed followed by relisting.
Genuinely not sure if I'd rather see that, or an attempt to raise and relist as an investment vehicle. The latter seems in ways less risky, while at this point there'd likely still be at least some interest for it.
What are peoples thoughts? Pretty sure the only thing we can agree nobody wants to see at this point is a complete fold!
Are the agm resolutions posted anywhere to review? Couldn't find them in the website. I'm with HL and don't want to tell them "Yes to all" until I've read them... Feel like there has to be a more elegant solution than messaging HL twice!
My guess would be that they're bringing the register up to date ahead of AGM and realised these two had dropped below threshold and no RNS had gone out. Not ideal but if they're taking the time to update the register maybe there's a glimmer of hope?
Have to say, im cautiously excited by all this action... But just praying Jesus we don't get another 12th April-style RNS from the company saying something like "just to remind you all..." Lol
AAA plans just announced... Personally I'm still trying to chew through the new structure, I find the RNS a little complex, lol... But they don't seem to involve RDGC from what I can see. Guessing we'll be something else
New tr-1 holder, Paul mckillen.
Well, spacs are always going to be a bit of a punt, lol...
The board involved seem to have a good track record of finding solid investments- but genuinely, the thing I take most reassurance from was ironically the thing that shafted us all and left everyone deep underwater! The RNS that killed the SP... I can't see why they would have done that if they didn't have a target in principle in mind, and knew the SP would be too high to comfortably complete a deal.
If not, then it was an insane move- bearing in mind if they thought there was material risk of failing to RTO they'd want the mcap as high as possible in the hopes of either pushing a deal through in suspension or successfully cash raise to become an investment vehicle.
Hell, could have just been a bad RNS but I'm an optimist ; )
... Then I'd love it too be RDGC but I'd bet on CCAP
Hate to say it, but going by that logic I think it'd point to CCAP. There's a half dozen other tweets saying asking the lines of "could CCAP be the one?" where likes have been removed. If I was a gambling man (and let's face it, investing in a spac is glorified gambling!)
Ah, disregard.... Didn't notice the timing, lol
Price ticking UP slightly on sells. Suggests they're still being snapped up off either off book or in a delayed trade?
0 trades does seem unlikely- even on the barren days there'd likely be a handful of buy/sells by now. I don't want to get my hopes up though- I've thought that before... And HL still allowing sells of at least small amounts (dummy keyed)
