The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Now don't you go getting me all worked up again... My heart's sunk so much while I've been in this stock that I don't think it can cope with much excitement ; )
Somehow hobsy, I allowed myself to dream for a moment that you were clairvoyant and that all our dreams might come true this very afternoon.
I mean if you'd been right, you'd have either been branded a mystic, or fined through the teeth for imparting knowledge in breach of an NDA ; )
If it's clearly voluntary, and handled right, delisting from additional markets can often be positive. Worked out well for Verona pharma, delisted recently from aim to focus on NASDAQ.
I would say there are a good few examples where it's felt the company's arm was forced, that they seemed (rightly or wrongly) to feel it was a necessity rather than a choice, and it's inspired panic and hurt investor sentiment and SP in the medium term.
As long as it's handled carefully and in a timely manner, I feel delisting from asx could be a very positive move... But yeah, can be a bit of a double edged sword and needs to be done right.
See guys, both sides kind of got a point, and a valid discussion to be had if everyone plays nice... ; )
No trades since 12.42 showing in any channel I check? HL, Google, LSE. Are we THAT illiquid now or is something going on?
Am sure that's it long term lover, it'll be a buy as you earn or save as you earn (sharesave) scheme. The amounts are too similar, too low and too regular to be anything much else.
Still, they've not cancelled the monthly contributions- so a small sign of confidence, lol
I'm new to the whole SPAC/cash shell thing... Think we'll get much of a hint before suspension assuming a deal is reached? I imagine there'd likely be some major 11th hour buying from those in the know, but even if so the TR-1s could come after suspension...
Am glad the team are ostensibly playing it right and not leaking progress updates which could compromise progress- but part of me is dying to know how talks are going!
JM has just cashed a little out of Quetzal- hopefully will calm the nerves of those accusing him of bailing funds from RDGC only : )
Marvellous! I'd thought that when I first read the guidance on it, but was starting to doubt I had it right based on some of what I was reading. That makes it seem a damn sight less daunting! Cheers for the clarification Jbear : )
I know it's proven a little unpopular, and I have no intention of throwing into any kind of slinging match either way, but I did wonder about turnout. I think we've been massively de-risked recently, but this is the main thing I can see making it a bit more of a challenge.
Even when you're basically offering free money, a combination of laziness, disorganisation or just plain non-observance of some punters means you're likely not going to get 100% turnout.
If we get say 85% of potential creditors actually voting, do we still need the 50% by number/75% by volume of the total (including non-voters), or would it be those percentages of only those that vote?
Im sure GJ and co have done all they can to mitigate this risk, and think our chances are decent either way, but this makes a fair difference to the chances of a successful vote.
Cheers!
Hahahaha, I really need to close my watchlist, take myself away from the BBs and RNS feed as people here have suggested and "tune out"... Would love to, but finding it impossible atm. Hoping that kind of discipline will come with time because right now I haven't got it for beans! Nice to see a positive update though, even a
relatively minor one. Cheers me up a bit
Adding more
Genuine question from a bit of a noob (so go easy on me!)
I'm in at a 2.5 av, hoping to hold for RTO and maybe beyond. I agree the people involved and big investors have some decent history and chances of a good RTO still seem promising (CCAP have done no favours for other SPACs as it's a major reminder of the potential risks! - but I agree this seems more promising).
But is there a point below which SP falling makes it harder to secure a solid RTO?
I know they can't divulge anything sensitive about possible deals at this stage but it feels like we need some sort of positive news to drive a bit of healthy sentiment.
Feel like my best option is still to hold and keep the faith, but it's being tested pretty hard!
Spencers have taken up JM's slack. Reassuring sight!
Has he confirmed this himself? It makes sense... Still caught me by surprise at first though!
He, can see it's back to normal now. No, not looking to ramp or de-ramp anything; just a relative newbie doing the typical relative newbie thing of checking too often and reading to much into everything. Was reassured by the RNS earlier but guess I'm still a little jumpy ; )

Definitely seems price is frozen at the moment at least. Anime have any insight into this? Should I be concerned? Or excited?
