But when you think about it, would shareholders accept a bid of 300 now for the whole company?

It just doesn't add up that they can get 1.5-7 billion for NA in this climate.

Why would anyone pay 1.7 billion for NA without bidding for the whole company and selling off the divisions?

My conspiracy theory is:

Cosmen pulling strings

Garat Cosmens puppet, remit to keep SP deflated for 12-18 months whilst he accumulates slowly and either reaches 30% to make a low ball bid or even hostile takeover.

Stamp the clown , inexperienced and appointed by Garat to ensure that under his stewardship several mistakes / nasty surprises uncovered and therefore achieving the aboves objective.

Call it wild fantasy but nothing else really explains the let down after let down here.

Airtel Africa also falling every day due to the Naira despite making good profits and increasing revenue.

Still finding it hard to stomach 2 major mess ups causing the stock to sell off under this new cfo.

Hy results last year and now this.

All they've had to do in 6 months is prepare for the fy release after a total mess up in October.

Hopefully yesterday was the market telling them how bad that is and it's not major.

It's getting to the point here where we're relying on external factors such as NA sale and macro ( interest rates/ inflation) to support our investment.

Who knows.

All I know is they've had 1 update to do in six months since the profit warning in October, and they couldn't even manage that.

It just seems they are finding issues everywhere at different time intervals ( different updates).

We were talking about the main reason for the earning downgrade in October being costings in NA, although German ebit was also downgraded at the same time I think from memory.

It's one thing after another it would seem.

The only crumb of comfort I have is Cosmens having added recently and being the largest holder, they won't "hopefully" allow this board to complete ruin their jewel "Alsa".

It's increasingly becoming obvious that Garat is way out if his depth , the newly appointed CFO Stamp has overseen mess up after mess up since being in post.

How can investors trust these two?

This CFO has been nothing short of a disaster since his appointment.
