Question 17:
Investors need process news asap. Is it likely that the leaching process will use hydrobromic acid? If so, how will you mitigate the expense of HBr vs sulphuric/chlorine processes?
We are considering a number of alternative hydrometallurgical processes. Hydrobromic acid has been the subject of some technical research papers and was selected because of the potential to recover and recycle the acid. Acid recovery and re-use will be an important consideration regardless of which acid type we choose to use.

Have discussions with downstream industry begun or is this dependent on the demonstration plant success? I understand Tronox are processing TIO2 chloride in WA at Kemerton - could this be a potential destination for your product?
(A) We have started planning how we approach the downstream industry as timing will be important for us and we do need to understand more about product development options and what makes sense, which will come out of our on-going process-product test work and then verified by our demonstration plant results. (B) We have many possible routes available to us, and this could very well be an option but again our development work will steer us towards which product options makes sense and then we can best target the most appropriate downstream industry companies.

1) The news releases in Jan and May 2023 suggested a Cu/Ag deposit. Since then drilling has confirmed a Titanium rich deposit. Is Cu still a viable option or were the soil samples misleading?
Yes copper is still a viable exploration target as supported by the historical data as well as our own collected data. It is a common trait of many giant mining camps to contain more than one type of economic mineral deposit, sometimes coincident (eg copper-zinc and tin at Neves Corvo, Portugal) and sometimes in separate parts of the mining camp (eg Timmins gold and Kidd Creek copper-zinc).

Is there a timeline for a maiden resource?
A maiden MRE is part of our 2024-25 project development plan but it is not likely to be completed before the end of this year. To keep in mind however is that this maiden MRE will represent a small part of the identified giant mineral system.

2 Questions; 1. Is there a risk that the sandstone being alkali and require huge amounts of acid to counter the calcium attached in the Titanite? 2. You talk about the uniformity of the finds so far, can you confirm the uniformity of the distribution of the mineralisation across the pitfield find?
The first phase of processing is focused on beneficiation so we can recover a Ti mineral concentrate and reject the acid consuming gangue minerals. Re: 2) From our drilling to date the mineralization is remarkably consistent with the variations more between host rock type (eg sandstone vs siltstone vs conglomerate). Part of the reason for defining two initial higher grade zones is to concentrate more drilling in these areas which will provide more information on grades and character of the mineralization.

This was our initial target and as we develop our titanium deposit, we are vastly increasing our knowledge of this geological basin and in the process learning where to focus for copper. h. Currently no as ANSTO is focused on Nuclear Science and Technology. We are however establishing technical working relationships with Curtin University, CSIRO and other leading researchers. i. We do not consider this to be a risk. WA is routinely ranked in the top 3 best mining investment jurisdictions in the world. We couldn’t think of a better place to have such a significant project.

Processing: Will you be using partial or total dissolution with HCl and H2SO4.
Will separation of the Ti from the Ti/Si
residuewith effective seperation of the Ca work without high acid use?
Will you have to agglomerate / pelletise the concentrate to avoid formation of product that is smaller than <100um which does not work well in roasters?
Based on stoichiometry the amount of acid you use to dissolve titanite is the same as you use for ilmenite. Research has shown titanite is readily dissolvable at low temperature, low acid conditions which is unlike ilmenite. In sulphuric acid leach the Ca will drop out as CaSO4. We do not expect to have to agglomerate the concentrate.

We are just beginning to put EEE and Pitfield on the radar of the broader mining industry. We are confident that our results to date, our plans going forward for 2024-25, and the results we anticipate to follow will attract key industry participants. As we continue to advance & de-risk our project and realize our milestone objectives, we fully expect that partnering opportunities or other means to realize full value for Pitfield will present themselves.

Question 8:
Do EEE have any ESG concerns with this project? Such as the production of CO2, acid capture, potential water contamination and tailings handling.
We have no specific concerns however, as with all new mining projects, ESG will of course be front and centre as we progress towards commercial production. We have access to all of the infrastructure we would need to build an operation at Pitfield including access to a planned green energy hydrogen fuel hub. The Eneabba refinery, under construction by Iluka (30km southwest of the Pitfield Project), involves sulphuric acid roasting of monazite (a REE-Th mineral) and all the necessary environmental and social permitting for that project has been approved by Federal and State Governments. The Pitfield project is likely to be considerably less complex and energy intensive and Empire will ensure that operations are optimised for efficiency and sustainability, including acid recovery and reuse in the ore processing.

Lots of great questions in here to answer! a. From the indicated initial flow sheet we released on 5 March, we expect a cost and capital effective process for converting titanite into a rutile equivalent product and we will be proving this out over the next 6-12 months. Our project development plan that includes a demonstration plant will determine these costs for our specific project and ore. b. In our last release we referenced studies which show the successful leaching of titanate to a >95% TiO2 product (like rutile). We will be showing how this will work on a commercial scale through our testwork and demonstration plant results. c. All our drill results to date have indicated no. d. The current development plan will be collecting and determining much of the information needed for a PFS, including mineral resource estimate, process-product flowsheet and costs, environmental and social studies, etc. e. Yes, we are planning on building a demonstration plant. The rationale for building the demonstration plant is to deploy a lower amount of capex to demonstrate the process and produce a saleable product so that we can be confident in the economics in a tangible and proven way. f. It is too early to estimate a cost for the demonstration plant given we are still developing the process flowsheet. g. Copper potential is very good as supported by historical and our collected data.
