Well done mate you got it bang on, i did think you were way off the mark but its on 7980 as i write. As i was like many gifted these shares I don't know much about platinum or Valterra but it's made a huge impact on my investment in AAL . So cheers to you and please keep posting your thoughts/ideas as it's good to read stuff from people who know their subject .

Hoping being the operative word , i'm not selling either but those targets are not realistic . Hope you are right though would be the icing on the cake for me , having held AAL for over 15 years through thick and thin topping up at sometimes the highs.

More buybacks announced, where the F is the increase in divi payments i've been in this since the rights issue they launched and was underwater on that price for a very long time. These buybacks only suit the few its the divi income that counts for me..... rant over

Not what i wanted , but as a very long term holder buying some at the very highs of £35+ and lows of £16 i am near break even with the free Valterra shares and now this big juicy dividend.

I am as they say a very happy puppy and glad my extremely bumpy ride is almost over - or it could have just begun.

Thanks for that might be worth hanging on for the divi and then seeing how pricey of platinum holds up before selling, good to hear from different viewpoint.

If our breakeven/profit point was £25, being given valterra shares in exchange for AAL shares, correct me if i'm wrong i think i been had.

Valterra shares have not got the possibility of going up 20/30% like Anglo shares have due to outside interest or market changes. anyone thinking the same ?

This would have been knocking on £27 today if not for the fire in the mine, and if it wasn’t for the laurel and hardy management it would probably be over £30 on merit . I’m having trouble convincing myself to hold but I know there’s bigger games being played here so trying not to check it too much.

For once GrowUp I disagree with you , I think there is too much interest in all or bits of Anglo American now . Any serious drops are being eaten up by a certain few, the weak will let go but even in bits now it is a very valuable asset .

Commodities have been up for a while now and will show in the results later in the year which will also impact dividend payouts also the net worth.

I’ve got a feeling that Glencore is going to steal the show just because of their strong South African connections, I don’t care either way as long as it’s over £30 or a very good share swap as copper is not coming back down now.

Yeah GrowUp they've just tried taking the Pss price has not budged they will be back, probably trying to soften us up for the not so high final offer.

What we need now is another party coming out in public about their intentions for Anglo American.
