Thanks Cox, I'm here for the long haul. Was obviously hoping for more than this but as Metalhead has said there are positives in here and I'm pleased that we're moving to Ditau. Many holders I think want to see KCB/Ditau drilled.
I'll be very interested to hear what BT has to say - I suspect that there will be a lot more gained from that drill than most of us (Keith excepted) think.

If VWAP goes up as a result of the extension - say as a result of really good news on Monday - then KKME may be in the position of receiving fewer shares but having a deal (i.e. on the basis that BT says something like 'if you don't extent, then there is no deal'), and a deal with a rising price.
There is also the position that they agree to extend so long as the really good news isn't announced until morning of the 1st. I.e. the VWAP isn't really changed (yes, a little up today but we've lost the first of the 10 day period which was higher) and they get a deal, with the SP soaring next week.
Oh what fun to be speculating again!
GLA
The news better be good as otherwise BT is presiding over a loss of confidence that would probably not be present had he ripped off the plaster quickly. Confidence that probably will take a long time to be replaced.
I still think it will be good, if not great news, but it is clear from the SP that increasing numbers don't.

I agree - it is surprising that another week has passed. But for the moment I think we should give Ben the benefit of the doubt and assume that he is prohibited from releasing any news. Once it all becomes clearer then we can have a post-mortem.
It is unfair to judge without all the information.

/Silly idea
Just an idea before people get too excited that there has been such a statement.
If we could get enough purchases together to move the price tomorrow by say 25%, then the LSE may require KAV to issue a statement about whether they are aware of the reasons for the large volume/price movement.
However, I had a quick look and can't immediately see whether there is an absolute percentage move that triggers this request by the stock exchange. Would need the acquiescence of the sellers to hold off for a day.
Fun over. /

Something happening behind the scenes?
Probably nothing really significant but with the heightened expectation, who knows?
FWIW, I have been impressed with the lack of leaks etc from the company - albeit it is frustrating as a PI :)

KAV have been, I think, more than happy to report (either formally or informally) what might have been seen as problems in the past. BT hasn't shied away from this before, why should he now?
He has been very good at pointing out that KAV is not a one-trick pony - laying the groundwork, if you will, for a drill into the GRS that does not give a great result....there are many other irons in the fire.
That KAV haven't reported yet suggests to me that it is less likely to be bad news and more likely to be good, if not very good, and they are dotting the is and crossing the ts.

FK - I agree with your interpretation, whilst acknowledging there are others.
It gives rise to the really interesting position that, if an investor thinks the same, then the the risk/reward balance is continually tipping in the investor's favour as time progresses and they can buy ahead of the news before the SP moves much.... until news comes out and the rocket goes up.
However, I guess most have already taken their position (I know I have).
StanAccy - I'm interested to hear more about the illegal mining in Botswana. I've seen some reports of artisanal mining elsewhere and that was much shallower I think. Regarding the drop in price - yes it probably will, but I think that most LTHs know that there are many strings to KAV's bow, not just this drill - it is what makes KAV very attractive IMHO.

I'm thinking more and more that BT can't say anything rather than won't. Not sure what that implies (though I'm sure it will have been covered in all the speculation).
Can't believe some people (myself included) thought we might have reached 525-575m before Christmas - seems so long ago now!
