So, another year of approximate 15p divi ahead, which at current SP is circa 7.5% return. No brainer really.

RNS states potential equity raise - I assume market is reading that as share dilution and reacting accordingly. Probably way overdone though.

honestly at this point it would be taking a chance - until we see the extent of how significantly below expectations this periods results are - at this point it's merely guesswork till the results come out on the 12th. Of course, if you're thinking for a long term hold, then it's probably worth the chance as most of the issues appear to be temporary. As for me, I'm fairly down after todays drop, but I'm not planning on going anywhere, going to hold till I'm back in the black at the very least.

Just a quick dip in to say well done to those who've held/taken a profit recently - I jumped out of here back in June '15, stating this: 'sold my (admittedly tiny) hold of these shares yesterday after looking at the background stuff over the weekend. While the div is excellent (and I expect it to maintain a few years yet) the continued failure of GW to actually market/advertise their products is a sign that they're heading for a slow decline (entirely IMO of course) Couple that with the fact that they've recently pulled one of their two core ranges (to be replaced by something in the next few weeks admittedly, but where's the fanfare? Again, no advertising) And that they're rebranding all their stores (from Games Workshop to Warhammer - again, no advertising) and I think the long term prospects aren't that rosy. As I said, I expect the divi to continue to maintain in this price range for a few years yet, but I think long term it's not worth it for my (small) holding. GLA to those who stay in, and I hope I'm proved wrong, and who knows? If I am wrong I may be back in here in a year or two while eating a large slice of humble pie.' I did the same - sold half at 230. somewhat regretting it now, but still a healthy profit - and no one ever went broke banking a profit. GLA

Any ideas? only thing I can find is the former minister stating Openreach should be spun off, but not sure why that is having such an impact here?

Actually the 2012 figure is quite likely to be a chunk of the payment made by Sega to secure the rights for the Total War game - Dawn of War 2 was released in 2009, so it's unlikely to have still been providing such large payments post release. The announcement by Sega of their partnership with Games Workshop occurred in December 2012 As to whether there are royalties for total war as well - unknown.

Interesting points CB. So Fagen and I were viewing it as a failure to attempt to attract new customers via lack of marketing, etc. But your angle appears to be that they are also alienating their existing customer base, correct? If so, despite the fact that the price has jumped after I sold (of course......) it would seem I made the right choice in the medium-long term, especially given the info in the last set of published accounts that they have instituted a pay freeze for their frontline staff - not something I expect from a well performing company. I'll still check in occasionally (like today) but for now I'm very much out and staying out.

Based on this rise, numbers must be excellent - from 323 on 3march to now nearly 50 pence higher. Somebody must know something. just wonder if this is expectation vs reality - may sell on Thursday in anticipation of drop on Friday and take a quick profit.

Truly surprised at the dive this has taken post-divi. Certainly dropped more than it should have (IMNSHO) For me the results were bang on, and I'm going to keep holding for a while yet. As ever, GLA and DYOR

I dearly hope you're right in your predictions. I got on board this share at near enough the very bottom of its dip last year (by nature i'm a long term holder rather than a trader) so I'm already inordinately happy with how its been progressing. a break to the high 300's would be most welcome. maybe.... but what's the underlying driver here? its gone +/- circa 20% per day in both directions. yesterdays rise was (I thought) the long awaited break to the £3 mark, then it dropped to 250ish....

So, a £6 million provision for fines and costs, but investigation still expected to take months longer....... I'm glad they've provided for it at last, and certainly hope £6 million is enough, but surely just the investigation costs here must be spiralling considering how long its taking. As ever, GLA.
