In Wuhan china kids are going to school in a calm and controlled away.Even the massive Spanish flu , which originated in America, didn`t last for ever. There will be ups and downs but we have far greater equipment and medical skill from then.Regarding the future of Lloyds I am long gone and have reduced shares to a holding of less than forty .Lloyds if you ignore the price drop has an excellent balance sheet and that is what counts now and in the future.Yes there will be bad debts and payments will be slower than before CV but a drop in price with slowly but surely correct. If you are still a holder imo don`t panic, already looking forward to the end of April and the Sun on our backs may well swing things in our favour.
Please be sensible look for solid Companies with good management and take a 2/3 year position. The brain power of our Scientists in labs are remarkable, the reason you see the second tier on TV is because their day has passed and they no longer can cope.Remember it is the British way to promote has beens rather than put them out to pasture.
This will all take time, we regrettably have little by way of leadership and what they say is pinch of salt stuff. We have the benefit of being surrounded by water, a natural barrier which was wasted be not testing all coming through our ports. But that aside, like the Football Teams that accepted putting 50k into a ground was madness the airlines and ferries have realised they are only wasting money and will gradually stop themselves. The people run the Country and common sense will prevail, the closing of all schools would be a bid step towards sanity but the heads will if necessary do it themselves.
My conclusion is that all these earth shattering virus scenarios have been pessimistic , but CV19 will be handled and if you are one of the vast majority untouched by it a lot of money will be coming the way of the PATIENT.
Take care and stay calm, history shows we always win.Oh yes I will be back into LLoyds and many others when reality returns.
