Carrington i agree that sitting at a table for 2 or 3 hours is unacceptable, but where is the evidence of this coming from ? unless people are sitting observing this happening,( which would make them as guilty) i simply dont believe this occurs like its being stated, yes you may get the odd couple of students being offenders and older people do tend to take longer but i dont think its as widespread a problem as is being mooted, and at the end of the day staff working in these establishments are not stupid and would soon remind them about other customers needs. at the end of the day providing customers with the experience of shopping and the choice to eat and drink for me is the difference between a shop an d a upmarket store.

Does anyone actually think that people take the trouble to go to out of town stores, using their own cars or even public transport just to sit and have a coffee and taking 2 hours to do it without actually walking round the stores, , your living in cloud cuckoo land. its all part of the day out its called retail therapy and the stores with cafes also have toilets, another factor why people visit large stores as opposed to walk in walk out shops, ask your wives, why they prefer large department stores, FACILITYS. if you want maximum sales area go to Primark if you want comfort and services go to M&S.

So you sit for 2 hours watching old ladys drink tea, hmmm sad.

So the urgency for the rollout of SMRs is dependant on results from elections and not from energy needs, i think that statement says it all about whats happening regarding the pathetic promises of getting Broken Britain working from this joke of a Energy Minister.

Jimjam i couldnt have put your comment any better, your bang on the mark with every comment you made, poor planning regarding who their customers are and what they like, M&S has allways been a store for older and more discerning shoppers people who want value for money, M&S will never be a young persons shop, and their customers are the ones who like to enjoy their shopping experience and also somewhere to spend time eating and having a cuppa.

The premises had a whole first floor when other retailer was open, and this has not been utilised, plenty of scope to really upgrade to cope and cater for all shoppers requirements, and the feedback regarding there being no eating/ drinking outlet will soon be realised, that the super dooper new store is just a revamp of their everyday stores minus the cafe, when are M&S going to put customers first before profits. they used to advertise that 95% of all clothing sold was manufactured in Britain, i wnder what % it is now?.

Big rollout of store in Doncaster, but im afraid my sister who worked in big retail stores all her life was very unimpressed, first impression on walking in and around was nothing new to see here, and question lots of shoppers were asking was wheres the cafe, whoops they havent got one, and informed there is a drinks vending machine available, oops who boobed on design.

R.R. will benefit from the price drop re- share buyback.

I have stopped the rot in my own portfolio in the last 2 minutes, i sold £70k of R.R. and reinvested in M&S.
