The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
It would probably be a good move especially in gas.....some recent comments from NNPC's Group CEO below.......
“We understand the arguments towards attaining energy transition, but the cheapest way to achieve that is through gas. We see clear opportunities that gas creates. Today we are building a number of trunklines and other gas infrastructure that will supply gas to a number of gas networks,” Kyari noted.
The GCEO said there is an ongoing engagement on the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline Project (NMGP), which is at an advanced stage, to create a pipeline that will pass through thirteen African countries and all the way to Europe.
@ Rocky - many thanks for posting, its given me a lift !
@TIL - agree an extension wouldn't that bad at all as would likely indicate meaningful progress must have been made.
@NTM - echo your sentiments on doing business in Africa. From my own experience, it often feels like a game of snakes and ladders. But if you go about it in the right way and have plenty of patience you win more often than not. And, when you do win, you win big.
GLA
@Axelrod111 - these blocks are ~1,000sq.km each- not large, but perfectly formed. Good infrastructure in the area and any oil found can easily get to market (refinery in Luanda)
Thanks TC. Suspect if it was all super positive news with the transaction that SAVE wouldn't wait until the 15th Dec to notify. I do hope I'm wrong though, but can't escape this nagging feeling that I'm going to have to pay off my mortgage the hard way. lol
I'm not the most knowledgeable investor here, but in my limited experience, the AIM market is a cruel mistress. She will punish no progress or bad news to the maximum and reward good news to the minimum. Someone please tell me I'm wrong :-)
Just about keeping the faith though......
@ TIL; Romain Bohbote also there from SAVE (finance, M&A role)
I was at AEW, RR. Other than learning early on that AK was stuck in SthSudan and hadn’t travelled to the conference, I didn’t hear anything particularly new or insightful specific to SAVE. Was rather tied up with the day job though tbh so had limited digging around time.
CYB - I will keep my ear to the ground. I overheard AK is still in Sth Sudan and is not currently in Sth Africa (yet?) - not clear if that's planned/unplanned, make of it what you will.
Many thanks also to Rocky for sharing the excellent IR post.
I will be attending TIL.
After all the recent SS speculation coupled with today's disappointing news, drastic action is required methinks. Lets see if I can get the SS deal back on track by treating a certain SS delegate to a trip to Mavericks, buying lots of drinks and having a camera handy......
Just a bit of light-hearted humour to get above the gloom .....
"The Chief Overseer of Caltech Investment Mohamed Malik says the acquisition fits appropriately with the company's strategy of expanding and focusing on the delivery of 'Projects that Matter' in South Sudan and the sub Saharan region."
if real, CalTech are even stealing SAVE's slogans !
CYB - I'll be attending AEW. I'll see if I can glean anything useful beyond what is already public.
Thanks for finding and posting this CYB.
A thickening plot laying bare all the opportunistic shenanigans to move SMIL aside........SAVE not going down without a fight!
Chad is making fairly low/inadequate progress on EITI though, apparently. I'm sure they can get a higher score upon completing deals with E&P co's signed up to EITI .........
Interestingly, Nigeria scores high/satisfactory on the EITI progress key - who'd have thunk it! Starting from a low base perhaps......
You have a lot of catching up to do !
Exxon & Petronas -whoop whoop!
Check out the comments to the LinkedIn version of this tweet. Very positive, particularly when the Head of Stakeholder Relations chez Savannah Energy wrote " Congratulations to all the teams.....well done"
Sapote-1 well results expected soon (Gil said mid-Oct at recent conference in London) - maybe a leak?
Buyers curse sent it tumbling :-)
You and me, both
Dismal performance these past few years so positive movement most welcome. If it gets to 14.6p next week I'll be at breakeven :-))
Holding steady nicely. Surpassed my breakeven today at last!
