Thanks for that, Im waiting until I can get nearer to my entry price before I buy, If it doesent then so be it but I like having round numbers of shares and every penny counts! Does anybody else do strange things like that when buying? I always buy round amounts 1000 or 50 or 200 etc etc...... Im in BP quite heavily so will leave Shell at the moment..... I have an average of £4.46 but have held there for a long time so have done very well..... I want my money back and a few quid for the hastle! Thanks ITF

Ive held these for a long time now and they seem to go from £4 to £5 range fairly reguarly, I bought some more recently ( middle of August ) at £4.20 so habve thought about getting shot of some but would really like £5 +, The interim divi is in Dec I think so have thought about holding on to then but would be frustrated if these go back down to £4.10 mark again as I would of had a few more shares...... We will see..... Im holding for now.... Thanks and good trading! ITF

Tate & Lyle gained 2.8 per cent to 450¾p as JPMorgan Cazenove said a trading update due this month may provide a catalyst to recoup recent underperformance. “Recent evidence of firmer by-product prices improves the outlook for the rest of the calendar year,” it said. Maybe it won't be that long for £5..... I'm sure we will see a bit of profit taking now, especially on Friday..... I'm not sure what an offer would work out at? Anybody got an idea? Tate & Lyle rose 5.5 per cent to 431½p after broker Redburn Partners upgraded to “buy”. It cited a “well covered 6 per cent dividend yield and a double-digit free cash flow yield” and “an abundance of free options on scenarios that could deliver meaningful upside”, such as restructuring and acquisitions. Redburn also argued that T&L could be a target for Bunge, its US peer. While T&L’s sale of its sugar business made a deal less likely, it was not implausible and the share price attributed zero probability to a transaction, it said. ITF

Got any views on this at the moment? I would like to get in for the long term divs and have had my eye on just under 1700, I haven't had the cash until now so couldn't buy before.... Anybodys thoughts on this or any other good divs paying spares would be great! Thanks all! ITF

About then only share that I've got that is today! Somebody knows something..... Got to..... Makes a mockery of that broker target the other day! Maybe they ment that they wanted to buy as many as they could under £4!!! Did you sell out of yell the other day? I had a spread running on it that I closed only for it rise further the next day! Doh... Never mind, profits a profit, spread betting is new for me at the moment and I'm down on it overall which is why I'm sticking to the long term plan..... I did make enough for a takeaway though! ITF

Evening all, Today I had some great news, long story short I'm getting a bonus from work, as different amounts mean different to us all I won't say how much, but, it's four months salary after tax!!! My question to you all is what would you do with it? Oaski, I've decided not to spread it!! I'm all up for investing it as I have a mortgage that will be ready for paying a chunk off in 3 years, I have shares in gkp, bp, Tate and ng.... I'd love to be mortgage free in 3 years, it could be done but il need to go some! Thanks all..... ITF

I dont think you will have to wait long.... If you have decided to buy for a long term hold then tomorrow may be a good day to get the cash out, you may see sub 410 but not for long.... best of luck.... ITF

My thoughts for this evening is that there is lots of negative news coming out at the moment in USA and here, there also appears to be a "feeling" of gloom around my place of work at the moment.... Dark nights drawing in, only a few pay packets before christmas, constant press gloom seams to me that all this may lead to the ftse droping bellow 5000.... My intention was to open a long mid December as I think that the Christmas feel good factor, holidays etc will push it nicely up until mid January, as long as big companies don't use the low trading time to push out negative news over the period..... Thanks for the thoughts..... Im having a better day so far today, I opened a short at 5200 and have just closed it at 5170 and made almost £80.... A small victory, I see if the ftse continuse to rise to back up to 5185 or above and then will short it again hopefully in time for 2pm...... Like I say all new to me, but I have set myself some rules and am going to stick to them! All I want is to have a good weekend! ITF
