RE: Next week it is then?12 Sep 2025 19:24
If 69k of shares were sold today, then clearly £69k of shares were bought - the no of transacted shares on either side must always balance. That's common sense. So anybody crowing about there " being far more sells than buys " today, frankly doesn't have a clue what they are talking about.
Any shares not sold would simply sit on the order book waiting to be filled at a later time if a buyer can be found - but for the time being no buyer has been found, therefore no sale has taken place. The order has not been filled.
You may have an imbalance in terms of the no of participants transacting those buys or sells - for example one person or entity might sell a lot of shares to multiple buyers and vice versa. And you could deduce whether the volume is high or low relatively on a given day, but that's it. If the 69k of sales figure is accurate ( which is debatable as often buys show as sells and vice versa on here ) then it means that there were also 69K of buys, and that the volume today was relatively high.
