Should have followed my initial impression and sold out, was getting an offer of 24p at the time; Didn't like the fact that the vessels are old, from my understanding the industry does not like vessels older than 5 years. Also didn't like that fact that no dividend is paid nor any mention of the cash and the fact that some vessels will be scrapped and the whole fleet will not be used until further notice. GED issues HKN $10 but only $8m paid back. Will ask Anna to respond fully and post and then depending on answers will as her to arrange a call

Hi Anna, I see the news regarding the takeover has been released today, it doesn't entirely fill me with Much confidence. Firstly from a quick read there was no mention of the extra $2m loan provided to HKN and why CLNs are being issued to buy the vessels when GED have $21m in cash. The cash burn of c$2.1 m appears high and no mention of the cash position what GED intend to do with it. Further a little disappointed that there an o projections on earnings and why the vessels will not be utilised, also disappointed at the age of the vessels. Not convinced how this creates shareholder value especially considering many people bought at multiples of the current share price. I eagerly await your reply

Doesn't seem like a great deal, someone on ADVFN did mention that they were looking into vessels. Vessels appear to be old and what has happened to the rest of the cash, not sure how the market is going to take this news.... Anyone have any views

Problem is the market doesn't trust the company to do anything with its cash to increase shareholder value; I think I read administrative expenses are $2.5m a year, that's quite a high cash burn for a firm doing nothing, at this rate a the time will come very quickly when the mcap is greater than cash Ideal scenario wound be what Legendary Investments did and returned cash to shareholders or even better they have managed to buy depressed assets for a fraction of the price!!

The Loan expires on 15 Jan so Il hazard a guess that the news will be released on Monday morning. Some companies have taken advantage of the drop in oil prices and seen there share price shoot up; Managed to get a very healthy position here at a very good price BUT if the loan is extended yet again and there is no news on the strategic direction of the company I think the share price will drop and flat line for a sustained period. Desperately hoping there is some good news on Monday morning that lights a rocket under these otherwise i might considered building a position in other stocks on my watch list, one of which iv seen go up 30% in the past month!!!

Iv emailed GED and they have confirmed that they are in a closed period and that news will be released in TWO weeks. I hope the news is positive and NOT the standard extension of the loan repayment; We have almost 3x market cap in CASH, buy a penny for a pound as they say

Hi, I had a few questions about the direction in the business is going and what the directors of the business are doing to ensure shareholder value. The share price has significantly dropped since the downturn in oil prices and we are yet to realise any benefit from the large cash pile we have especially in relation to the market cap. My concern is that the price of crude has increased from the lows in Jan 16 but we are yet to make use of the cash pile we have to realise shareholder value. Have you considered giving long suffering shareholders a special dividend? And why not? My other concern is regarding the bridging loan, it was extended by 6months and now a further month with shareholders not being rewarded for this. Can you advise if there is a realistic chance this loan will be repaid and what you guy are doing to protect and take actions in the best interests of shareholders. I look forward to hearing from you.
