Its all about combinations now, PD1 exposes the cancer to the immune system, what it does not do is start an immune response of the right T cells, instead it relies on a response by the patient, sadly in 70% of cases nothing ! so the big money will be made by spotting who and what is best linked in to form a combo, for that you have to search vaccines because the competition in the PD1 market is very real, but few can build a vaccine that works when combined with a PD1. The effects are way better than used only as a mono therapy all i can do is suggest folks search SCib2 and look at the effects in mice, that 70% that did not respond now respond !! and to show you in patients research SCib1 in melanoma 10% rise in AZN is a lot of money ......its latest blockbuster PD1 , the effects could be increased 3 fold with no added toxicity by top notch vaccines ....

The group is now under pressure to drive home Soriot's point on why shareholders would gain more value on AstraZeneca standing alone in developing its drugs. Soriot said a drug called MEDI4736 could produce peak sales of up to $6.5bn. The drug was initially tested as a treatment for a type of lung cancer but has potential to be used on a broader range of tumours. It is among a range of new oncology treatments that make use of the body's immune system to destroy cancer cells. AstraZeneca will reveal more detailed data at the annual conference of the American Society of Clinical Oncologists in Chicago on Tuesday.

I am not a shareholder in AZN .. i maybe in the future, but i wont be buying here .. think about that one !!

and so it should ... the opening of the PD1 market in oncology is just the beginning. You should consider what AZN is saying .. who is jumping into bed with who to run joint inhibitor programs .. there are a few posters at ASCO this weekend that are going to announce startling results in this field .. the market is the biggest drug class in history PD1 and the vaccine boys are the leaders ... problem is who can spot the missing link ... research Prof Lindy Durrant

you need to be a be careful .. the company is trading at 2.5 x revenues, and has moved to a loss position. You wont know if these delayed orders will happen .. etc etc .. even if you look at previous years the yeild on its Divi was 1.25 % ... "Sabien's prospects for the medium and long-term remain positive" ... this puts it into 12 months from now ... the use of "short term" was missing ...
