The way I see it there are several price multipliers

- helium shortages

- drilling more wells, increasing production

- Helium being declared a critical mineral

- HYDROGEN…..

What will crash the price? The only risk I can see is the same for every stock - a market crash…

@Westtowpads - this is the annoying time. This is an energy shock driving prices up, It will hurt and damage the economy and businesses. Raising interest rates (damages business growth and the economy further) to counter an energy shock is NOT the answer.

I’m no economist or banker and I understand it. Or am I missing something? … I must be. Surely the people setting interest rates know more than me?….

Looks like the first step towards a deal. Both sides are agreeing that a one page MOU has been drawn up. One page so it will be very light on detail!!

- all war to cease immediately including in Lebanon

- Billions in frozen Iranian assets to be unfrozen and sanctions lifted

- The strait of Hormuz and to be under Iranian management

- Iran to be compensated for the damage to infrastructure…. Washington are saying no toll so are the US to pay compensation???!!!

So ok - the strait opening does help Qatar and change things. Been a tough week at work - brain fart last night confusing Qatar and Oman.

I also agree - pay the toll and get on with it, the world needs fertiliser and oil, gas, etc. All nations are a pawn in this mess and being used as leverage by Iran to boost Irans geopolitical standing and reduce the US influence in the region so they can’t be attacked again. It’s working. Operation freedom lasted a couple of days as the Saudis refused use of their airspace (so Iran wouldn’t hit them again).

More and more ships are passing through daily, so presumably more and more are thinking the same - just get on with it - and so are paying up (or Iran would be attacking them). The spot price being paid for oil in the east is significantly higher than the manipulated price in the west. It’s profitable to pay the toll and sell the oil. Hell ships flowing and paying the toll will lower the prices when compared to no ships flowing. To avoid sanctions payments go through the new China payments system not swift.. This is the new world order and ‘security architecture’ being put in place by China and Russia.

If America could have opened the strait they would have. They can’t (or rather aren’t prepared to lose ships, sailors and soldiers) - so they won’t do anything and the new reality is to pay up.

GCC countries paying for US bases was meant to protect GCC countries but that made them a target instead when Trump used those countries to launch attacks against Iran. Trump single handedly messed it all up.

Paying a toll and with the security architecture being worked by China and Russia may work out the better option. In that case US influence in the region will be significantly reduced. Or removed. I mean the 5th fleet has already left the region.

None of this matters to us. End of the day the Helium shortfall won’t change anytime soon as Helium cannot flow from the gulf until repairs are made and prices will continue to go up - and that won’t change any time soon - UNLESS there is a drop in demand for the product.

HEX are well positioned.

Once production is restored (not any time soon) - Trumps actions will not impact anything in relation to Qatar and its Helium.

The Strait of Hormuz is Qatar and Iran’s waters. The toll will be a joint operation / agreement between the two.

Therefore Qatar won’t need to pay any toll.

How the crisis is resolved impacts all the GCC nations, but less so Qatar.

Iran and Qatar have reasonable relations; when Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Bahrain blockaded Qatar in 2017, Iran responded by sending planeloads of food and allowing Qatar Airways to fly over its airspace. The two countries helped each other through that crisis, and Qatar and Iran restored full diplomatic relations in August 2017

Iran and Qatar will work together on the toll for the strait of Hormuz…. should Trump be unable to solve the issue (which look increasingly likely to be the case).

Repair is estimated firm 1 year to 3 years. So whatever Trump does it doesn’t do has no impact there?

Yeah, but this is the great thing about yesterdays RNS (Kaeran) - a deal was secured that was significantly higher than previously modelled an anticipated.

Now other suppliers have to offer better. And if they do the current buyer has to match that. Or do better. HEX are in a strong position given this initial deal (we are told) is a good price for us.

Back to my main message. It feels like watching paint dry here and slower than we all would like. Patience is needed.

It has been a frustration the lack of action on the ground (drilling). Now they have a sales agreement sorted, and others being negotiated - hopefully- some attention can return to the drilling.

Wouldn’t count on it but they have clearly been flat out in negotiations. With one deal struck I would hope some manpower can be reallocated to progressing things that on the ground?…. Hopefully.

One other thing. With a deal struck are they now in a stronger position negotiating other contracts?….. You want our Helium, you need to beat the deal we already have in place. We don’t need your business (but you need ours as there’s a shortage)…. Patience

I remember when He1 launched there was great excitement and hopes of £1 a share (or more). Just look at the share price.

HEX is frustrating, slower than expected to production. Slower than expected to announce sales. Slower than expected to sort out Inez.

But ….. look at the share price. Yes we want higher, but HEX will hit and surpass £1 one day, and this year IMO. He1 will NEVER hit £1. I lost money on He1, made money on HEX.

Slow and boring wins the race (even if we take a far longer time to win the race than thought.

Anyway - next news AGM. Hopefully we get answers on Inez and dates.

Next news we don’t have control of - USA listing Helium as a critical resource. Charles Archer did suggest that will happen and it’s ’weeks away’ - so I’ll take that as 8-12 weeks. Yeah it feels like ages away but it will pass.

I was going to post why, but let’s just leave it - I agree completely.

It’s a bit disappointing but…..

- we were told production would ramp up over months

- in addition, there was talk of semiconductor manufacturers running out of helium in 48 days. This news was at the end of March (43 or so days ago).. the clock is ticking on this one. … now 48 days admittedly may not be completely correct but ….

- the Helium shortages have not yet properly hit….Like the reduction in oil has yet to really hit

- the longer Bo takes the better, albeit the more frustrating as we all want to see our holdings increase

- from my dubious charting skills we remain in a channel uptrend (but near the support. So hopefully TA will help pull the price north.

- US is not threatening to escort ships

- so we have opened the straits again - but there is a toll payment to be paid, just as before.
