Considering the footfall the site gets, repeatedly being the top rank on google SEO for almost all stocks and the premiums people pay for subscription to level 2 surely the site is profitable enough to invest in such basic 21st century technology, infrastructure and resources.

Lol, it had me taking a second glance. LSE have rolled back their site to a previous snapshot and it looks like it was last taken in February. Bit worrying if that their last useable Snapshot. The amount of data lost in between versions can cost businesses millions. They need a new business continuity manager or disaster recovery advisor or better yet more investment in their load balancers and servers.
