Oh god Graeme, so sorry to hear that, glad you are now starting to feel better, what a bummer to be ill all over Christmas, was it real Flu with all the aches and pains all over? what did the ambulance staff say? Morning Jester, there are at least 12 interconnectors around the UK connecting us to other places, and as you say when people here in the UK seem to despise the building of Nuclear power stations on their doorstep for safety/health reasons, they seem to forget that in France say 25 miles away across the English channel there are 58 of them and might I say not very good ones, the French company building our new ones at Hinkley Point have not even now got the original design to work safely back in France and weld defects were found during construction, the idea to allow another country ( that doesn't like us much by the way ) to build in the UK and run at an exorbitant cost for electricity produced seems pure madness, and has been pointed out if one of those 58 in France goes wrong we are not safe over here in the UK .

There are already 4,000 MW of operational interconnectors linking Britain to France, the Netherlands, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, and a pipeline of approximately 12,000MW of projects proposed or under construction by 2025.

One of the small city cars was the Renault Zoe, they quote say 160 miles per charge, what they don't tell you till you read the manual are 1, you must not charge the battery to 100% or you will shorten its life, so you can only charge it to 80% regularly so now can only travel 128 miles, 2, want to use the heater will use more battery now 100 miles, night time using lights 95 miles,
3, on a cold freezing day the battery has to warm its self up first using its own power before it can be used in earnest to go anywhere, taking up to 15 min,
Electric cars sound great but there are drawbacks with the lithium cobalt batteries, now Hydrogen fuel cells different kettle of fish....

In London, a survey found people buy a hybrid to avoid road tax and congestion charge and then only run it via the engine and never even take the charging lead out of the bag it came in and so have never ever charged it up from the grid, just a way to circumvent the rules.

I do find it odd behavior when a new poster created today the 28th December posts thoughts with so far 12 posts to their name across six separate share boards on a Christmas weekend, why..... they are not even trying to deramp the stock they post on, very odd, do they just get paid on the quantity......

My preference for the company's longer-term health is along the lines of Stockdales 10:13 am post, where a % is retained to enable company growth and longevity and if the company found itself cash-rich going forward then you never know it may be able to pay a regular dividend which would entice longer-term holding as regular dividend-paying stocks are always sought after and hold value, also if the company's cash cushion was so great it could also do a share buyback to take out some of the shares in issue and give a pro-rata increase to the value of the existing shares in issue then the price goes up further. Of course, if the company is sold outright all existing shareholders win and end of the company. The above is my take on this as I like the company, I like the management and their openness and alignment with shareholders, and the size of its assets, for traders who only want a quick return the above will be of no interest to them, but for the serious investor for the longer term provided there are no adverse effects to the company's longer-term prospects what is there to not like with a great dividend-paying cash-rich company. whatever, a nice problem to have and as one poster said earlier " all shareholders are winners in this company "

Hi Chriszzr, unfortunately it is nothing to do with LSE, if the trade was done off-book, behind the scenes shall we say this is always how they show up, after hours. look on the positive side, someone wanted to purchase 4,500,000 shares for £171,500
at 09:26 am, which is good for us in the end, just not cricket ....

Cclore, Interesting point, the only shares I have held in the past in certificated form were BT and Lloyds Banking does anyone here actually hold a paper EUA share certificate and is it a decorative piece of paper and would it look good nailed to the wall for decoration or not..... maybe framed if the BIG sale turns out bigger than expected for us all.... :-)
And if we don't crack 4p today we have Monday and half day Tuesday to have another go to end the year on a high......
