The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Well, this is painful - looking at minus £24K
Joins ASA resources, Sirius, Villiers etc. etc,
And another excellent story, wrong, unlucky, mismanaged, whatever.
We'll never get out of this life, alive.
Cheers guys.
Thanks MrMaths, as always it sounds logical - but still complex for my simple braincells...
I do enjoy lots of chat on several LSE boards (excluding a few nasties) and am still learning in my 9th decade, some interesting information as well as nutters.
Sirius was one that bit me, being in Yorkshire...
I did sell a slice of LGEN at 300 - bought back later at 190, but a lot of luck there. :-)
MrMath/Trotsky
I am assuming this is more clever with cap gains/trades than I comprehend?
On my two pensions, about £32K gross, I pay £4260, a bit more than 4.2% or 6.6%
If I include cash taken from my (all ISA) investments, it would come down, though accounting for a few catastrophic crashes would modify this.
Up to 3 years ago, my average gain on these was 8/12% pa.
But not unhappy.
I know the arguments for using cash to buy other companies. History is rarely kind to this plan.
I'm sure the BOD think they are doing right, but much prefer Daytrade's ideas.
Organic growth for this (very) amateur investor every time. Or cash.
I get increasingly sad and disturbed by the bad-tempered posts, not just here, but on other BBs I monitor. Guys (rarely Gals?) please accept we are all different, very few are bad, or I believe stupid, and we must be able to disagree politely. Or just keep quiet?
We are cursed with some really evil folk these days, let's not add to them.
Peace, William.
FWIW,
L&G is 10% of my 11 LT Holdings (Inc. 2 AIM + Costain disasters...)
One of my bedrock holdings, better than Shell, Fres, SST - worse than 3i, Glen, Inch.
But quite happy, so have topped up modestly recently.
Added 99 at 412 - enough cash for 103 - but ii still tell me "not enough" for 100!
I like round numbers - daft, I know - so put in order £413 - and got 99. Grrr
Happy buy, though, a steal (I hope)
Riply - I only ever have 1 to 3 AIM, the two just now are awful - my 3rd (ASA resources) "stolen" literally - some time ago... :-(
Me12345 - I suspect you are a rare, and recent buyer (up to 3 years?) to be in profit.
I have added occasionally at less than my 264p original buy, but then at 60+p.
Still hopeful of some decent return before I fall off my perch... :-)
