Can someone kindly remind me why AVCT suggested AffiDX was not suited for the PD approval process, and what this therefore means for the potential future for AffiDX? How would it get approval for self-use? I'm missing something here.

There will be much shouting, but no change, imho the gov't has nailed its colours to the most effective (at the time) LTF that they could find *and which* could be manufactured in vast quantities. The use of the blue and white tests is embedded in the UK's economic recovery, whether we like it or not, and at a crappy% the tests have performed a quantified role, at vast expense, and the gov't will stick to it's guns, at least as far as accepting no criticism. They should not stop them ordering from Excaliber or AVCT or Mologic as part of a going forward plan, but in the meantime there are still multiple millions of the blue and white boxes to be got rid of yet. I can't see them going to landfil or the incinerator.

Sorry if already posted. If you've not read them, these are well researched and set out what's happened so far, but at time of print of the 2nd one, the FDA story had not yet broken. Will be very interested to see what the journalist Sonia Elijah has to say in article #3

Got a leaflet from my local council this morning along with post peddling the boxed "NHS" (yeah right) ones. There are multiple millions of the things to be got through somehow. We can hope the FDA's action will result in the whole lot being junked. Could not give them away to a country that needs them either now. But no, you can still trot down to the library/pharmacy here and get a nice blue and white box for your family. Could not make this up now.

@Shelly - what message do you expect Colin to state? There is nothing that directly related to ODX arising from the FDA's action, that I can see. ODX can promote their test, and can use media such as LinkedIn and Twitter to point at their quality.

It's a long time since I've spent about £20 on cold meds (lemsip, night nurse etc), happy to spend half to make a societal contribution to avoiding them in the first place. I'm talking about a not-too-distant world were home diagnostics, not just for Covid of course, have a place in our normal daily world.

"Hey, we've still got some AffiDX in the bathroom cupboard, right? I've got a tickle or temperature or cough and I want to know. Put the kettle on, I'll be down in a few minutes, it's probably nothing, but just in case". Every home, everywhere on the planet, for a very very long time. IMHO.

...and presumably it's only fintech nerds that read it. Hopefully someone is positively influenced, every little helps.

At least we now have better clarity as to the business(es) they plan to launch, and that's good to see, they sound pretty innovative and potentially paradigm changing. However, we also see that this is all to be paid for with a funding round in the not too distant future. IMHO.
