Hi Guys,
Looking good. On Thursday, goes ex-dividend, with a Quarterly Dividend of 1.75 cents, + a Special Dividend, of a further 1.58 cents. Have just bought my first shares in this company.

Hi Guys,
I, also agree with scoopusave. I, for one, rely for what’s posted here, for what’s happening. Abusing each other, is no help to the rest of us. I’m looking into whether it’s worth investing in Glencore, not a Punch & Judy show. Cut the abuse out, &, be respectful, please. There’s already too much online abuse, without adding to it.

Well, yet again, another share consolidation. Talk about having your cake ??, &, eating ??? it, at the expense of the share holders. Not good ??.
Hi Guys,
Much appreciate all your thoughts. Regarding the share consolidation, Rule 1: Share Consolidations are for the benefit of the Company, not the shareholders. Rule 2: see Rule 1. We have been through all this with Aviva lately, & others, in the past. I, only have a small shareholding in Nat West. Applaud the Special Dividend, but hate that they all seem to come with strings attached. Not good enough. Reward the shareholders. Don’t give us a Special Dividend, then, in the same move, kick us in our collective shareholdings.

Hulvard.
Hi Guys,
I, have seen all your comments, thanks for those. I, had chance to buy L&G shares this morning, but have hesitated. To my mind, there’s a lot of pushing/promoting of L&G, going on at present. Ex-dividend tomorrow, so, after it’s gone ex-dividend, the share price should drop. However, I, am now wondering ??, with all the current financial concerns, if the stock market’s heading downwards in the next few months. I, shall keep what L&G shares, that I have, but will wait to buy more shares, until I see how the stock market’s going over the new few months. Perhaps I am being too cautious, but am interested to see what you guys think, please? BW’s.

Good ?? dividend, have bought today. Hopefully ??, the firm on the way up again.

Hi Guys,
Have been looking keenly at DLG, especially since the price is dropping in the wake of Sabre’s problems. During the last year, I have been buying back shares, previously sold off. My gut feeling, is that DLG will come through, but is, undoubtedly, in line for becoming a take-over target ??. I, personally, am prepared to keep buying their shares, until it proves to not be worthwhile.

You can certainly bet that the shares consolidation, doesn’t benefit the share holders!!

Hi Guys,
I have read all your contributions, thank you. Good, if rather sobering reading. I took a rather speculative, small position in this company. Now, with the consolation, am sitting on just over 400 shares. This is a difficult one to call, in my opinion. Undoubtedly, has potential, BUT, needs backing by lenders. I see that they’re looking to raise cash, so, potentially, they going to offer us new shares. I am very much sitting on the fence as to whether to participate, as to participate, I would need evidence that they’re also being backed by lenders. Tricky one, this!!

Hi,
Blair Peach is right to use the expression, ‘White Elephants’. Traditionally, elephants are revered in Siam, now Thailand. Elephants are very expensive to keep (never mind the trouble with the byproduct!!). If the Kings of Siam didn’t like they would give them a present of a White Elephant. Very expensive to look after, & you weren’t allowed to kill them. In modern parlance, stitched up, or what!! The share price has to go down, post share offer, so why buy in now? Doesn’t make sense, unless you know something, I don’t? Hulvard.
Hi everyone, I see that the shares from the Open Offer, are in my account today. Having looked at this overall, with the debt cut being a positive move from C&R, I bought some extra shares yesterday, in the hope that this company can now go forwards. I had a much bigger holding in the past, which was mullered by the 10 shares for 1, share consolidation, but if all goes well, am certainly prepared to buy some more of their shares in the near future. Would welcome your thoughts please? BW’s. Hulvard.
Hi Guys. David Lenigas has come a cropper AGAIN. I got involved with him over Lenigas gas & oil out in Trinidad. Surprisingly, that’s still going, but not with him on board. Likewise, NQ Minerals. On paper, it looked good, & Lenigas talked it up well. Even the last figures for Helier, assuming that they’re accurate, were good, with a reported profit of 5 million, or so, Australian Dollars. This failure raises very big questions, of which Lenigas must take his full share of culpability for its failure. Answers, FULL answers, are needed, & must be given to the investors. If criminality is involved, then those guilty, should be investigated, & prosecuted to the full extent of the law. No excuses, no fudging, we want answers. H.
Hi Guys,
This is certainly turning into a roller coaster ride, on what should have been a smooth passage. If the financial reports on Helier are correct, that it’s profitable, therefore, it can be used for refinancing. Beaconsfield, potentially, is also profitable. Obviously, there’s a big mess here, &, unless I’m wrong, seems to be based of both the amount of debt that the company has, & what they can do to refinance it. Perhaps, I’m being over optimistic, but it seems to be a sensible move to put administrators in, in order to assess what can be done. I notice this morning, that my shares, held in EQi, have gone from being suspended, have come back onto my portfolio, with a share price. Fingers crossed, that’s a positive step. I know that David Lenigas has a mixed reputation, but if the financial figures stated for Helier, are correct, this isn’t over yet. H.
Hi Guys,
I have been watching all your comments with interest. Yes, the shares are definitely suspended, NOT delisted. The recent figures listed on the operating Helier mine, were very good. Beconsfield is progressing towards production again. My belief is still in NQ sorting this mess out, then moving onto AIM in due course. My regret is that the suspension came, just as I was about to buy more shares, but, c’est la vie, we now have to be patient. H.
Hi Guys,
Both Morrison’s & Tesco’s both go ex-dividend on the 20th., not long to wait. I hold my shares electronically, & my next ‘Regular Investment’ date, falls on the 19th. You all probably will not be surprised to hear that I shall be, once again, topping up on both shares. Interesting that when most shares are down, yesterday & today, with the positive figures just declared, Morrison’s SP is creeping up, & the ‘Times’ business section today, commented on that today. Still a winner, as far as I’m concerned. BW’s. H.
Hi Guys,
Personally, I think that trade, particularly in the pubs, will be disrupted for some time yet to come. Though we’re all hoping for indoor trade to resume on the 17th., in practice, trading in the next few months rather depends on the Covid situation, & whether people holiday here, or brave it, & go abroad. I think that the Christmas trade will be a big indicator for not only Barkby, but pubs in general, of how this is all holding up. The last big Influenza epidemic, lasted over 3 years, 1918-21, & though we, through much better medical provision this time, have been able to combat Covid, I think that the effects of Covid, could be around for sometime to come. However, having said all that, I fully believe that this is still, very much, a company worth investing in, & I shall be continuing to add to my holding throughout this year. BW’s to you all. H.
