Finally got a reply to my e-mail from just over a month ago re synthesis of chk1 inhibitors, "I have checked with our scientific team, and have been assured that the patent relating to the crystal form and the synthesis of SRA737 that you make note of are one and the same."

Still unsure as to why there would 'appear' to be two separate patents but I'm neither a scientist or patent lawyer.

Chairman's Corner still awol for now. If SP was on holiday he could've had one prepped before he went so I'm thinking there could be other news before month end and the CC will emerge after that. Wishful thinking?

Hi PCS - hmmm, you'd think it better to announce a paper a few weeks ahead of a conference in order to let the data sink in and ensure a gaggle of people wanting to speak to you. If you announce at the conference then interested parties might already have meetings booked elsewhere. Just my thoughts.

Hi Bailiff - unless something fundamental happens, that really was my last purchase. Even before today's buy my average was significantly lower than it used to be and I've enough shares to mean my financial goal is reasonably attainable if things go well.

I *think* tomorrow could be the start of the final week of dosing. The peer review seems to have been going on much longer than I thought it would but reading up on the process, and depending on the journal, publication can be delayed if the author hasn't paid the open access fee. IF the paper has cleared review and final acceptance, have the BoD chosen to strategically delay payment to tie in with completion of dosing?

In other news I had my finally final, last-one-ever, honest guv, top-up this morning. Must be the heat.

Considering the previous trial ended abruptly and the restart RNS noted, "We look forward to providing further updates as the programme progresses", the very least they can do is RNS a 'dosing complete without issue' statement to boost market sentiment.

Hi Steve - didn't JR say something along the lines of even when they release good news the sp seems to drop by a few percent? To get the share price moving upwards at a steady lick I think any '1801 good news' RNS really needs to underline the market value of other drugs in the autoimmune world. Clearly the BoD will still have to review all the data so they can only say so much in a study-completion RNS, but they should still use language to hammer the message home e.g. instead of saying "we're pleased to announce the completion of the study...", could they say they are "delighted to be reassured that intial data fully supports..."?

With maybe less than 2wks until news I'd hope to see the sp creep upwards on anticipation.

I tried (twice!) with the other new 737 patent but not a squeak in response from IR@SAR.

Knowing the BoD aren't given to hyperbole and SP has accepted that shareholders would like to see a bit more 'Ra! Ra! Ra!', I'm wondering what they'll be able to say in a 'dosing now complete' RNS. Lots of data still to crunch in the months ahead but you'd hope they'd been getting enough topline numbers as the trial progressed to maybe say if the data suggests 1801 is indeed best in class.

Might get the Chairman's Corner on Tuesday if we're lucky. Last one was all about 737 so I expect this next one to look at the market for 1801 and CNS/BBB drugs.

Hi Elcap - I'm assuming it started on or around 11th Feb so we should be about 11 days away from the completion of dosing. I base this on JR saying the RNS wasn't released until after the trial had been up and running for a few days (4?) to ensure everything was OK. Add a day to write the RNS and pass it by the Nomad etc. and so its likely we're now into week 15.

I've just e-mailed them asking why I've not received a response re the new 737 synthesis patent I found last month. Maybe SP will mention it in the next Chairman's Corner. Just can't get the staff these days...

Hi Aber - Hope you're well. Whilst none of us should have our head in the sand regarding the realities of a small biotech trying to make progress, when someone gives advance warning that they are looking to buy more shares just ahead of anticipated good news and then sell for a quick profit afterwards, it's no surprise that they might try to influence sentiment under the guise of, "don't say I didn't warn you". At these levels even a penny drop ahead of good/great news might be seen as worthwhile if you're intent on trading.

I think everyone is 'sort of right'.

Having a plan is good but so much here is predicated on outside factors that the BoD must be able to pivot quickly if things go wrong or don't manifest themselves e.g. MHRA/trials in Oz. Is a 737 deal absolutely nailed on etc.? Just how many variations of a 'grand plan' should any company have?

None of us know the precise funding situation in the here and now, never mind knowing the financial landscape at the end of the year when full 1801 results will be known.

Whilst the pharma world is somewhat isolated from most major global events such as war or climate change, it is still at the mercy of regulatory changes, public health crises, and shifts in public opinion. Just because a new drug is talk of the town today doesn't mean it'll still be No. 1 in 6mths time etc.

As someone said recently, "there is no deal until there is a deal". And by extention, there is no plan without weighing up the chances of things actually going to plan.

Re funds, there's £1.4m available if all outstanding warrants are exercised. As the warrant holders have been exercising their rights since April last year I don't see why they won't continue to do so especially if good news is round the corner.

I agree, Nutses. I think week 15 begins in a couple of days so not long until dosing is complete. Assuming everything is on schedule I'd expect an RNS in the first week of June to at least say it all went without a hitch.

Hi PCS - I'm sure SP has said something along the lines of him expecting current talks on 737 turning into a deal in the near to mid-term. I think that was at the end of last year but can't find the particular quote. If I come across it I'll obviously post a link.
