The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
"when the contract RNS arrives"
Aye, there's the rub.
Of course they are. It's not an insurmountable barrier but you'd have to be nuts to think it makes no difference.
Tricky, I'm sorry but that's very misleading. The process for getting CE-IVD certification varies according to the class of device and is more onerous for devices listed under List A or List B of Annex II of the IVD Directive 98/79. These lists cover specific tests and do not include Covid. Genedrive will either be certified as an "IVD for self testing" or a "General/Other IVD".
If the latter, it's entirely self-certified. If the former, it's almost entirely self-certified, the only exception being that "the Notified Body will ensure that the device design (section 6 of Annex III) and the information provided for its use is suitable for non-professional users."
In either case, the certification says absolutely nothing whatsoever about the quality of the test device. It's a necessary step, but not a difficult one to complete.
GDR has been sitting around 20p for some time. The ONLY news to change that was the CE mark, which is just one important but small step on the road to selling anything. Quite why people think the largely self-certified CE mark should cause the share price to double on its own is beyond me. Fair price here right now is probably around 30p.
If GDR actually show some genuine signs of making significant sales or distribution agreements THEN this could be worth 60p, 80p, even £1+. But given their track record it's not surprising that the market is not taking sales news for granted. I'll probably pick some up for a punt if this drops a bit more, 35p say, but I'm very aware that a punt is what it will be. Could be very lucrative, but not with no sales!
The SP has more than doubled in three weeks. It's only "tanked" compared to the artificial FOMO peak last week. Ignore that, it was nonsense. Just zoom out and the SP has more than doubled on some fairly minor CE-mark news. It's not worth anything like 70p without SALES.
Incidentally the fall from 70p+ is only a problem if you dived in on the spike for no good reason other than "OMG loadsmoney where Lambo!!!" But hopefully you didn't do that...
Could it? Wow! Better remortgage the house and buy all I can then if something COULD happen.
Hold on - did you just liken me to a child abuser for being negative on a share?
That's utterly sick, and you should be banned.
Oh cool! A ready-made market for GDR to sell into!
Oh wait.....
Exactly that. The tech is worth buying into at say 25p. Get an actual sale contract and 80p+ could be reasonable - but without that, it's ridiculous.
I'm here for another reason. I'm here to dish back some of the treatment I got when saying that 70p was massively overvalued for a company that couldn't sell ice cream on a beach.
LOL Phatster. Just yesterday you were saying:
"The company is in a much better position than the previous lockdown so expect this to rerate to 100p very quickly."
"50p is holding nicely, sells are slowly disappearing, this will the shoot up quickly past 60p"
"Commercial deals are coming, when announced this will rocket"
"Genedrive will be a winner, those selling will be regretting like mad"
...where's our 80p?
Nice one Bumble1968, and good for you. Just ignore the morons. There's no cure for stupid, sadly.
For heavens sake Tiger. I can put up with your moronic "research"; your fatuous claim that you are always right; your complete lack of irony or self-awareness; and even your ridiculous self-proclaimed prophet status for spotting that GDR was rising after it had already gone up 60% (hope you got out by the way - bit late now if not.)
But I'm losing the will to live regarding "xams". It's CHRISTMAS. At a pinch Xmas, and if you really, really must I won't shoot you for typing "Crimbo", although I might shudder a little.
I've got 21 shares on my watchlist. This is the only green one today!
Where Lambo Tiger?
...you promised it would be 80p yesterday, and you told us you were never wrong...
What happened? My faith in the Universe has been shaken!
My old pet hamster knows more about shares than Tiger. And it died 45 years ago.
If.
a) The CE mark is trivial, and mostly self-certified.
b) What's an Omnicrum? What you get when a baby plays with a hob nob?
