The technology group Wärtsilä will ensure maximised lifetime and guaranteed performance of the
Hera (North) and Betano (South) power plants, located in Timor-Leste, in Southeast Asia.

The five-year operation and maintenance agreement with the government of the Democratic Republic
of Timor-Leste was signed in the second quarter of 2017.

The Hera power plant is situated in northern Timor-Leste, near the country’s capital Dili, and
it has an output of 119 MW.

The Betano power plant, situated in the southern part of country, has an output of 136 MW

This operation, maintenance and training contract with Wärtsilä will help us to ensure stable
electricity supply in Timor-Leste,” says Virgilio Guterres, the Director General of
Electricidade De Timor Leste (EDTL), the operator of the power plants.

As the technology provider of the Hera and Betano power plants, Wärtsilä was the best candidate
to support our vision of future’s power plant operation by local Timorese.”

"The cost of LNG processing capabilities is that you have a longer pipeline (to Darwin) but you just
have to build a train and not all the associated green field equipment, which would have to be built
in Timor," she said.

"That said, there's been a lot of work over the past several years and things that have been done
in the Gulf of Mexico, for example. Look at modular construction."

Modular LNG facilities are typically quicker and cheaper to build and can be scaled up more
quickly.

She noted Commonwealth LNG, which her company signed an offtake agreement with for portfolio
gas this year, is developing its plant this way.

Certainly read's like , they a serious about the new studies, that's a bit more than an off the cuff

Curious that last bit, all 3200 sq km of the Sunrise developed, re-did the 3D
for the lot in a single day in Dec 2020.....

As far as I know, they have no other holding in the TL maritime area, so what
exploration? , been holding onto something in that 3D ?

Or from left field, Woodside have something else coming to them in TL waters?

The old plan , lets be kind and say was poorly put together, based on Sunrise
only, with beaco build one string and take it from there, with up to 4 strings
longer term development........

The upgrade, they had 3 fields (30 tcf) and a HUB and still talking 4 strings

Must be far more economic than the original proposal, likewise Gas prices
much , much higher than back then, adding to margins........GLA
