I believe that Colin ‘The safe’ Braidwood’ is a Security advisor and owner of a government backed firm. The initial assays at Creswick were so staggering that Ecr have been granted special dispensation to erect substantial security fencing and guard towers prior to releasing the news. Colin was tripping over so many nuggets when he was surveying the site that he couldn’t resist buying in. Just a theory for a Friday. DYOR.
I think we should book the Downing Street party room and garden with Resident DJ for this Monday, open an account with Hambledon winery and just drink through until results day, whenever it may be. Tha alternative is more of this tick...tock...tick...check...tock.....I’ll bring the Monster munch and a phone charger. Keep going everyone.
The ‘Dead time’ on Friday saw carnage on here due to so many of the regulars needing an outlet and the stirrers facilitated by filling the void. Most here are 7am RNS’s whether you admit it or not and I have been since June, but I’m more excited and impatient now rather than anxious. And they never came :) I’m sure something will drop imminently and it will electrify then calm the heart when it turns out to be holdings. I have minimal to offer other than some personal insight into the emotion of this unique share and situation along with some common sense and a desire to improve my own knowledge and understanding of the science and the markets. My point, GLA , who had the 11th in the sweep? I think Intraday is perhaps increasingly likely after the last US link announcement and the clear US focus but all that does is mean at 7am, when it doesn’t arrive, we still tune in to see what else may happen. Stay calm, be nice and know that you aren’t alone. Ps I’ve been on the red.
From what we’ve seen Activ appears to be unique in that it is flexible as it is purely about solutions in a crisis where timescale in crucial. The comparators are a massive setback but not necessarily unforeseen. In a dynamic trial where solutions are imperative is it not beyond the realms of possibility that SNG becomes even more significant particularly if Sprinter results are fed into P2 results as is indicated by the initial protocols?
At least the variants are being shared around. Maybe in 500 years there will be world tours and tourism focused on COVID like Eyam and the Plague. Start in Wuhan, trip to India, down to Guateng, Botswana, Cameroon, Cyprus then Marseille and up through France to Kent and then over to Southampton to see the statues of the heroes that were erected in early 2024 after their contribution to humanity received global recognition (we hope). Who knows what the future will bring but seems positive. A fascinating week just gone, only many more to come which will test all our resolve.
Well said Docn and TL today although I might question your stats Docn, not sure they would hold up to too much analysis :) but a point well made. Bring it on and let’s hope we can all enjoy next week as a collective. GLA
Not only has it been pure rock n’roll on here the last two days, we’ve managed to keep 10 in the shed and only 403 behind. Could be a big end to the week on all fronts but my money is here rather than elsewhere. Exciting times.
HP Glad to hear your positive news and a sobering post amongst all the noise on here. Just wanted to echo the thoughts of this thread. My financial position is very similar, life can change in a instant, good or bad and we hope the support is there when we need it. Given the increasing pressures on services it is inevitable that the support will be missing for some when they need it most. You've had the negative, let's hope this can bring you and us the instant positive we all hope for.

Similar to the article posted earlier and a new scenario. I’m expecting a couple of SAGE resignations very soon. The inaction here is purely based on the inability of our leader to lead due to a lack of support within his own party and cabinet. Lead by the science is far from the truth. The chance to avoid the current situation has long since passed and lockdowns are not the solution now, not continuing to wear masks and ‘freedom day’ were political headlines not a functional reality. We need this to be good because the future is bleak without it and the politics to manage it is despicable. That said, Happy New Year, stay safe and at least we are well informed whether you agree or disagree with the range of posters. The time is nigh.

France has become the first country to announce publicly that it has cancelled its order for Merck & Co's Covid-19 antiviral drug following the publication of disappointing trial data.
Merck released results from trials at the end of November which suggested the drug was markedly less effective than previously thought, reducing hospitalisations and deaths in its clinical trial of high-risk individuals by just 30%.
French officials had placed an order for 50,000 doses of the drug molnupiravir.
But Health Minister Olivier Veran told local media that the "latest studies weren't good" and added that the cancellation would not incur any cost.

The government’s antivirals task force has made its biggest deals to date this morning for two promising new Covid treatments - Paxlovid and molnupiravir.
And all over-50s and the most vulnerable are being urged to sign up to a national study for molnupiravir as soon as they test positive for Covid-19.
