The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Given the nature of the 'disappointing RNS news re visa's, l would have thought if Co believed spud was likely in 'early' July it would have been stated...instead, the RNS reads spud has been moved 'into' July....that doesn't imply 'early July' to me....only words and interpretation l know, however, these ANNs are scrutinised and edited numerous times before going to print and given the circumstances, l think Co would have used any 'positive' to bouy investors and minimize any so drop....didn't happen...
@ bladderman re: '...if it were the the first week of July'....RNS states "...will likely move the spud of Snow Leopard 1 into July 2018..". first week at best l would suggest...but this could well (pun intended) mean 2nd or 3rd week also....then time is getting tight...seems everyone here is convinced by Chinese-Whispers the spud will be early/first week July...given the nonsense of this visa 'oversight', l think Co would have stated that if it was - don't you?
I doubt there will be any doubt about visas...just several weeks hold-up in drilling because some 'international' rig Co forgot to apply for them when they should have....and more than likely to impact on the drilling schedule in the short time that was available...no conspiracy...happens all the time doesn't it...
@ Bishand...or next year...weeks... months... years... they're all the same with Co. Just lose a quarter of the drill season now and run out of time this year if the rig breaks down...no visas...what a joke.
@ oilfated re: "....I think things such as permits and visas etc are just routine and Petro matad is probably guilty of an eagerness to transparency and overly informing the market...." One would 'just routine' would also apply to Sino then wouldn't it...but ooops!...we forgot.... One would a 'certified rig' for the drill last year would be 'routine' for an international drilling Co also...but ooops...they sent Petro a 'dud'. This has to be a concern, conspiracy theory or not....what will they 'ooops' 1+ km down a hole???...but keep ramping...
@ Manro...l have been in this Co since first drill...l understand that until oil is found, it 'is' BS to say it 'will' be found, despite 'Stalin's oil' history and the like...irresponsible posting imo...with still no Sino visas...or the 'quite possible breakdowns' during drill etc, this Co has a long way to go, if they fill the right spot!....do you know how hard it is to fix a broken drill bit from 1500 or 2000 metres in the ground?
@ Captain Stanley....agree...it is tedious and last year should have been embarrassing enough for the same posters to tone it 'down' this year....as has the market with sp to date...sure we hope Co does hit oil...however posts of this nature are unsubstantiated, false and misleading ramping imo...immature posting, at best!
@ Manro re: "...this year a new and largest ever oil and gas field discovery in Mongolia...". can't you substantiate this 'ramp'...or are you just feeding Bishand 'ammunition' like last year...l mean really?...it is a big statement considering the Co's last effort was salt water...
Matad 'could be and should be' a lot of things for a long time now....Mcap maybe under-rated but the Board has certainly been 'over-rated' (over-awed even) for far too long now and Mr Market is more discerning that rampers on here imo
@ Manro...imo you are undeservedly accusing a man of bucking success....Buck couldn't negotiate a farm-in, sold a large slice of the Co for nearly half price and now chose a tender that has cocked up twice 12 months...my scorecard says '3-zip' atm
@ Manro re: "But I am sure that Mike very well aware now in all of this and able to act very quick and decisive to prevent any further nasty surprise." .....we have now had many months of adulation from the "I trust Mike Buck" club on here and how he will 'transform' this Co etc etc.....however, this is Mongolia and Mongolians are essentially of Chinese decent and still 'well connected' or they would more than likely be another Tibet imo. But nobody knows Mike Buck at all in reality...Who is/was Mike Buck?....he is just what we want him to be and hope he can be to find oil with a 'clean canvas' and a cashed up Co - but then he chose Sino again! Why? Ok...he can 'now' think about contingency plans etc if Sino are up to no good etc etc...my point being is the "Mike We Trust" put the Co in this position just months after Sino unbelievably sent an 'uncertified' rig on site ffs....and, if he was so 'aware' of China's potential/intensional 'dirty tricks' as you suggest, then why are we 'playing' with them?... I think there will a lot more 'acts' to this melodrama yet and the 'cast director' may have a lot to answer for if the 'audience leave the theatre' as they did last year because of poor directorship.... sorry, MB has made a gross error in judgement with this tender....and Genghis Khan would be rolling in his grave right now imo.
@ oilbell re: "All I see here is morons who panicking who don’t understand how this business works" ...with all due respect ...as everyone knows nothing has 'worked' for Matad with the 'go slow', Russian connected, previous CEO who dwiddled for years...and now nothing has worked with the Sino/China rig tender...just a coincidence Mongolia buys there oil from Russia and China wants their oil l suppose...imo l dont think you know how China and Russia 'works' pal...they are a 'business' all of their own and Matad is up to its neck in it....snorkels at the ready
@ojay...we may polarised points of view, however to purport you are of higher literacy demeanour with your unrepented ramping of this stock, especially when 'espionage and wheels were falling off' the Co last year, you have displayed a distinct lack of Corporate/market intellegence imo...nothing much has changed...and you still obsessed with the hope of success for the stock and blindly 'play the man' if there is an 'evidence' counter view instead analysing what is actually happening to this Co under this Chinese program to thwart Mongolia's efforts to gain oil dependence. As it stands...all your 'bs' ramping to date has proved false and misleading imo....just a point of interest .....I hear China currently has about 1000 new wells within spitting distance of the Mongolian border...why is that l wonder...looking for water?
@fundraiser...this not the first time Chinese drillers 'forgot' to get worker visas....and last year, what a disgrace...a drilling Co who had months to prepare sent in an uncertified rig for a major drilling contract???...gimme a break!...they totally sabotaged the drilling program imo....surely the 'writing was on the wall' after that act of piracy but still Buck handed them another tender for this year...outrageously poor management....the Chinese must be wetting themselves laughing at our BoDs imo....
I wouldn't trust the Chinese as far as l could kick the 600+m Shanghai Tower....best option now for a smooth drilling program is to 'give' them 10-20% in return for another big drill program imo...l bet the phones are running hot over there right now....
@ Hawkspear...Re: farmout...imo only....the positive is that China know this place is loaded with oil....and they want in for 'nothing'. Sino stuffed up last year knowing the Co was on its 'knees' and needed farm-in and played hard-ball ... hence Petro went solo, as l commented they would do a month or so before they did....amid howls then also! Sino would not be happy being left out in the Mongolian cold...they will know once oil is hit there is no chance of getting in so now the tactics...again ... and how hard would they be bargaining to farm-in now they have Petro over a barrel again? ...ruthlessly imo, so it is more than a case of 'just a few visas'....is it then 'just a few break downs' mid drill? ...what next?...now we have a clear indication of what is 'hanging over Matad's head and is a huge worry to say the least.... Sino should never have been tendered full-stop!...Matad is totally at Sino's mercy again this year now....ludicrous to choose Sino... 'Compensation' would be a pittance compared to rewards on 'offer' here for China if they can farm-in. Anyone who has had any dealings with Chinese Co's will know how rediculously 'hard-ball' they will play to get what they want...and l firmly believe they have always wanted to farm-in and now even more they have seen 3D....Buck 'trumped' them by going solo but the Chinese still the the rig 'joker' up their sleeve So yes...imo, the man who oversaw Sino tender, and should have known better, given Sino's history, but still put our Co in this position is a pillock...
@MrPositive....this 'is' on Mike's back....he oversaw tender...Sino should never have been engaged...you trying to tell me a Copy as big as Sini 'forgot' to apply for visas? ...not a chance...deliberate imo... and for the second sinister time now...therefore, anyone appointing Sino to drill is a pollock imo...long range, l see this year being abandoned if when the rig 'breaks down' mid drill...this Sino problem isn't over yet. Get rid of them l say....now!
@Mikey...why trust 'the wolf "Sino" in sheep's clothing's again?...if Mike Buck was as smart as purported here then a new rig tender from 'outside' China should have been engaged . ...Sino has been derailing Petro for years imo...no visa?...joking...Sino 'remembered' visas last year because the rig was already a 'dud'...wake up Petro!
