Bidstack Group plc (AIM: BIDS.L), the in-game advertising group, is pleased to announce a new collaboration with Epic Games, Inc.'s Unreal Engine, enabling video game developers to monetise their titles by creating advertising space within their currently live and soon-to-be-launched games, via a new Bidstack plugin.
The Unreal Engine is a complete suite of video game creation tools developed by Epic Games, the video game and software development company behind some of the biggest titles in video games including Fortnite, Rocket League and Gears of War.
Game developers creating games using the Unreal Engine often use third party plugins to add effects to their games. The soon-to-launch Bidstack plugin, will give such developers full control to identify and define areas within their games through which they could make native in-game advertising available. This could be any appropriate surface from virtual outdoor billboards and sporting pitch-side hoardings to decal stickers on the sides of vehicles or prints on a character's clothing. Developers will also be able to retro-fit advertising opportunities into existing games, creating a new revenue stream for their back catalogue.
The Bidstack plugin will mean that in future when a game using the Unreal Engine, which has passed Bidstack's stringent brand safety checks is published, all new advertising inventory contained within that title will automatically become available to advertisers to buy programmatically through Bidstack's growing network of demand side platforms ("DSPs"), including Xandr Invest (previously known as AppNexus) with which Bidstack is already working.
James Draper, Bidstack's CEO commented:

Bidstack, the in-game advertising group, has entered into a £10m trade deal that represents the first-ever major investment from an agency group into in-game advertising.
Bidstack has been trailblazing the in-game ad category since it was listed on the London Stock Exchange in 2018 – becoming the first crowdfunded gaming company to go public. Since its arrival on the open market, Bidstack has signed partnerships with game publishers such as Sports Interactive and Codemasters, ad tech platforms such as The Trade Desk, Xandr and also the recently acquired ad fraud prevention platform Pubguard.
The latest deal represents a significant shift in approach from major advertisers looking to engage with gaming and esports audiences on a larger scale. It is the biggest trade deal of its kind to date, and highlights the growing recognition from major agency groups that reaching an affluent, diverse and growing audience through gaming will be critical in 2020 and beyond.
The gaming industry continues to go from strength to strength with the global market now estimated to be worth USD$148.8bn (£113.6bn) and esports audiences beginning to challenge audiences for traditional sporting events. Gaming is now bigger than the film and music industries combined – and with ad blocking on the rise and traditional ad channels in decline, it is clear to see why brands and advertisers are moving to future proof their media strategies.
Previously businesses such as Massive Inc, Double Fusion and IGA attempted to establish themselves as leaders in in-game advertising, but arrived before online gaming and esports were firmly established, and struggled with a lack of scale. Bidstack, however, has successfully integrated its SDK into leading triple AAA games allowing it to make ads trackable, and available programmatically, guaranteeing advertisers brand safety, greater control and increased scale.

Any bad news is now in the rear view mirror imo. New AAA games about to be announced and more add agencies Talking tonBidstack. Might have a cheeky top up in the morning. Sentiment is changing and will continue to change with positive news flow. Bidstack have built out a good business and now it’s time to turn the taps on.

Until October 2015 Bryan was a Senior Vice President at Electronic Arts ("EA"), the US video games company. Bryan spent over 25 years with EA, serving in multiple leadership roles including playing an important role in EA's Initial Public Offering ("IPO"), overseeing corporate finance and treasury functions, managing EA's global business development efforts, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer for EA's global software development organization and lastly overseeing EA's Global Operations team. I am not going to pretend to be happy with SP. But I am happy with what has been achieved in the last 6Months. More games and deals to be announced soon. Bidstack is in a much stronger position than it was a year ago I would suggest that today’s price offers plenty of upside compared to this time last year. Let’s see where we are at Easter. I am not going to make predictions but in my opinion there are plenty of positives if only people would open there eyes.

Helx is angry that he sold out at bottom. Personally I am looking forward not back as I see good News coming sooner rather than later. I still believe in the tech and still believe we will be taken out. In the next 18months or so. We hit bottom a few sold and now it’s onward and upward. Helks bitterness will grow as sp rises unless he can either let go and move on or buy back. I do feel for the guy. But he has 2 choices. His constant anger will make no difference to Bidstacks outcome. I continue to hold. Let’s see where we are come Easter.

To any newcomers looking in Helx is not invested .He will tell you he is but he sold out before Christmas at 6 or 7p. He is now angry with himself that he didn’t hold. As he would already be 100% up from his selling point. I suggest newcomers listen to last podcast where James Draper made it clear that Bidstack have a very rosy future. And that good news was very very close. Don’t listen to Helx as he will become more bitter as realisation of his mistake will only become more obvious as the share price grows. I don’t ask anyone to take my advise I am suggesting you listen to the latest podcast and read the RNS of what has been put in place in the last year. Look at the advisers associated with Bidstack look at the huge Cos that want to be part of what Bidstack are putting together. If your not sure what Bidstack are building it’s a whole new advertising opportunity for global Cos to get there adds into the gaming sector. Which is worth more than music and film combined. DYOR
