Yes , sold for a small amount.
I'm not sure thy hold the debt in the way suggested. Haven't they still lent money (which presumably means they receive interest payments as well as why they still retain an interest in all those solar businesses). If my understanding is correct - and I admit, I may well be wrong - it seems a decent deal to me, although unlikely to have a fundamental effect on the sp, either way.
Well I've just topped up with another 10893 shares!!
Can't see why things have taken such a tumble so hoping we have a return to +20p sooner rather than later....
GLA
Just chipped in, too, for another £500 (roughly) for 10000 more. Only spare cash otherwise I would have topped up further.
Company on charm offensive in the City, apparently. Seems that brokers/analysts believe whatever the company's saying.....
Have it on good authority that there's at least one problem with Panmure analysis. Apparently, easy to check the director share dealings and work out which has been incorrectly analysed/interpreted by Panmure.
Whilst I don't know about all the other concerns Panmure have raised, the fact that one of their claims can, supposedly, easily be rubbished doesn't really give lots of confidence to the rest of it.
We're in a closed period, so not much management at EQN can do right now to refute the claims, I suppose.
Anyhow, wtfdik???
Just tried to top up (yet again....will I ever learn??!) and can't get a price. Is it just me/my broker.....?
I have to say - and apols for what probably sounds like a bit of smart@rsery - but I thought it very likely, if not nailed on, that a decision would be taken after the election. If you were a Swedish politician, why would you take the risk of upsetting potential voters immediately prior to an election, by making a decision either way? If you just wait until after the election, make the decision then and there's then a number of years (potentially) before the voters can take their retribution against you, as a politician. That's why, my best guess is that a decision is likely this autumn.
October 15th for me.
So, lbjj, if you were a rational govt making a rational decision (and I hope that's the case as all parties are sending information/evidence to be considered), why would the govt just take the CAB's word on the life of the mine. Don't you think they have an obligation to test that assertion and one way of doing that would be to consider any relevant information such as an updated scoping study? Just a thought.......
Shame to see you go but understand your thinking Ctw2014. As for me, I'm still holding but have stopped adding until this downward trend stops (if it ever stops, that is!!) GLA
I hesitate to give advice, Poieo, but I will give you my view for what that's worth (which is probably not much). Personally, I don't see the sp going back over 30p for a while, yet...probably sometime in 2019 when the (coal?) dust settles on the coal price issue and the debt that OPG carries (amongst other issues). Again, personally, I still see some value here but think it'll take a while to unlock that value but I have the luxury of being able to wait a while. Anyhow, as I say, just my view and definitely not advising you of what you should do - or what anyone else should do, for that matter - and, in any case, wtfdik (if you'll pardon the expression). Good luck with your investment(s) whatever you choose to do.
So, I guess, sit tight and see how this plays out.....? Anyone have any thoughts on what Melrose might have to pay to nail the t/o?
Any ideas as to why the big drop this morning and subsequent9partial) recovery? Leaky ship, perhaps?
Good to see you back here, Ctw2014. I'm still here, although ditched quite a few at 27p (having made a small loss). Buying back at anything below 25p but drip-feeding funds. GLA
last straw for me, too, Ctw2014. I've sold half my holding (and made a relatively small loss). I can't sell anymore. Can't even sell 2000 last time I tried. Whilst I still believe in the story, I suspect there must be more going on in the background which we aren't aware of, so until this settles down a bit I'll get out as much I can and maybe come back later. Sad times, as I think there's still a good story here, if only the company was any good at telling it.....
At what point do we become a takeover target (if ever)? I'd appreciate thoughts from those who know about these things..........
.....and still no movement in the sp. Three big trades of 65000 shares each, all above the ask and yet no upward movement. Think this is more support for Ctw2014's theory about a big sell order being filled.
it's a good question, Ctw2014.....basically, I've traded the share over the years (and might do it again if we have a bit of a ounce back over the next few days/weeks). My average was as low as 28p until I started topping up..........
As ever, Ctw2014, I tend to agree with your summation. I've been topping up for a while now and took the plunge this afternoon for a bigger top up. I'm fortunate that my average is around 30p now, so I'm still showing a marginal profit. I can't help thinking this is still a good news story waiting to be heard. The company's still profitable, seems to be committed to paying dividends and with a strategy for continued growth. The downsides for me are the coal price shock (which is hopefully either temporary or will be mitigated by a rise in price to customers) and the debt (repayment) issue which, as far as I could see, wasn't addressed to any meaningful level. Whilst the drop is disappointing, I still see this as a reasonable investment (but perhaps not for the faint-hearted or those looking for a particularly fast buck). Of course, DYOR, but I'm sticking around for what I hope will be the inevitable payback....... GLA
Me too, frankw. Topped up at 261p. Don't see the justification for an 8% sell off, myself, but wtfdik???
