Rose I appreciate your reply and the effort you put into it,also there maybe some merit in what you say,but I think we can't really compare these modern digital days with the 1930s,they had no www.with high speed communications then,things evolve today at the speed of light what is doing the crippling damage today is the virus and it's disabling factors within industry and the population give time for vaccines to kick in and the numbers of contagion to fall and the cogs of industries will be turning again and money will be circulating at pace and all going through the banks best of luck keep safe.

Well i think that lloyds has held strong today along 37ish and that looks good for tomorrow I'd of thought it would of been dropping around to36 due to the neg forces,but it holding well so don't fret too much just yet.

Gwynwyn I come up from shear poverty myself,but I've worked very hard all of my life and been frugal,it's bought me comfort in my retirement that's all,I've never had huge incomes from my employment but it's how you manage it that counts I'm sure your doing well yourself or you would not be here on the market enjoy your day.

Uptheladder yes me too along with a dividend,I've held and holding lloyds for some years now some I take the divi some I take up new shares so I have income and growth,I last topped up at 24p bring my ave to 43p as I have been buying in the past 70pand above ,still at 43 I feel I have a chance to recover any lost dividend and return in the long term to growth,but my word of warning to myself is caution on the housing and unemployment levels,hence I've not been buying more over 25p until a sound dividend is in place best wishes and good fortune to you have a good day.

To as a boy it used to fly really low over the dunes we played on ,you could see the rivets and the pilot,with his helmet and oxygen pipe over his face,great machine,and lots of excitement as it flew over ,a symbol of British power at the time,enjoy your evening.

Thanks for your reply,but I can't see it holding for the whole of January maybe into the first week ,things are now moving rapidly and the pace will accelerate come the new year I expect some serious volatility in January in both directions enjoy your day,the truckers are now moving into France it's foot down and away.

Flaky when you say Dec Jan do you mean the whole months ,or from 1st to 1st or end to end,please can you be more precise with your dates and days it does get a bit confusing at times,many thanks.

The far end I have always been heavy in lloyds and long,nothing changed there,I said I'd not buy in with new money above 25p unless there a dividend and that is still my position,I my sole reason for investment is to make money via dividend and capital growth which until covid was achieving with lloyds but outside interference brought a stop to that and hence a dramatic fall in sp brexit on top of that did not help,the road ahead is still not clear,best wishes to you for the new year.

Sage a good post but not a single mention of covid and it's detrimental effect it's having on the industrial nations ability to perform,I'm like you heavily invested so to am hoping for recovery,but without dividend,falling covid count ,and good results to come,the green shoots are not yet appearing,but I'm positive with the help of science it will come,when I see 45 to50 I will say the sun is out hip hip hooray.enjoy your day.
