No one has a clue. No one can call a bottom anymore than they can correctly guess this would be 35p by now. Just have to ride it out, buy more or sell depending on your own views of what is happening or will happen in the future regarding this share.

This is true smithy. It went up on good first group news a few weeks back to over 130 then few days later could be had for 115. Any sort of lockdown is bad but if there is job scheme in place and guaranteed a lot of revenue then it won't drop massively I believe. after all it did fine in the first lockdown hovering round the same price with only CEO leaving dropping it massively. I reckon anything between 120 - 130 is a good price anything below a short term blip as evidences a lot lately and a massive bargain.

However long term is my view and if in five years it is still around this price then the world has big problems.

Yes you would have troubles like last week. However this is down like markets are down. I have had shares swing through 20% in past week elsewhere so it isn't just a GGP problem.

Somewhere between 18 - 20p finish for the week id say then a slow rise as more results near, away from all the hype and fake rumours of newcrest buying when it was clearly vaneck. That is much healthier and more realistic than last week's cries of 35p minimum by this Friday...

I saw the writing on the wall for cine a couple of weeks ago and put it into this. Also lost about 20% but would have lost even more if I waited until results day.

Cine will survive but it might be a tough year with measures talked about until march and Boris earlier in the year saying next summer for any sense of normality. I can see them heading for lockdowns again once they have their six month extension of powers through parliament. Just a hunch Boris is trying to appease his back benchers then will u turn like other things before.

Never under estimate a market, or how a weekend can change sentiment... What I'm saying is it might be the bottom or you may have to endure a torrid Friday until things start up again. However, long term 20p is a good price but not necessarily an absolute bottom.

Well if they do a bog standard 3% one at £4 or so which I expect the share to be in four years time then you can work out your rate at the moment will be about 9%. Just to put it in context the dividen was about 13 - 14p before... Anyway im not going to guess on exact rates or when dividend will be introduced again but I suspect it'll pay you handsomely if you buy big now and hold.

Yes long term this has great prospects still. Surprised short term not a mention by ggp of inclusion in the gdxj or any even small update on how things are going. But really I think this was likely to return to last week's levels after hype - didn't help people speculating the large buy which was clearly vaneck was newcrest mining buying.

However I've bought in to ggp twice before and promptly seen it fall many many percent only for me now to wish I had topped up more at those levels as they are a distant memory. Anyone who bought at higher prices in the long run will be rewarded. I know - I was 60% down at one point...

Just on today's trading statement...

Confirms a lot of why I bought in heavily after reading previous snippets. A lot of guaranteed revenue, pursuing - and winning - new contracts and costs in this country on their public transport under written by the government.

Good figures but I'm not sure how the passenger levels will hold up over the winter as coach trips will be less and if people work from home more again. Long term today's statement confirmed there are no fundamental issues with the company.

Every other time about 4 years to recover. However this time who knows but I am looking at five year time frame to get back up to the mega money. Hopefully have a nice dividend by then too.

Ermmmm carnival have a huge chance of going bust. Paying out a huge yearly rate on a bond they gave to save themselves for start, having to sell boats... If they don't sail consistently near full they will go bust or have to issue more and more debt or more and more shares.thry have a huge chance of not making it as cruises aren't a public transport unlike this.

So all those ETFs that get told what to buy by addition or exclusion from an index decide when they buy or sell? Nonsense. If they held shares that lost a fortune in the crash that got booted from the index they sold at a loss. A tracker has to buy the dogs and the winners and buy and sell at rebalances. This etf is no different. Their weighting said buy 120m shares they had to buy 120m shares. End of. Mvis tells them to sell tomorrow they sell. Same with any share they bought for the tracking of the index. It is a shame people can't contemplate vaneck aren't making the decision what to add or when and making it out vaneck have done mega research and buying in to hold for a long time - someone even said until dividends start paying. Rubbish. It is nice addition but complete nonsense they have done groundbreaking research and decided to buy ggp as they see it as a share to make them a fortune for a long time... Mvis decided to add it a tracker at 0.66% weighting they have to buy it. Same way a ftse 250 has to buy the dogs kicked out of the FTSE 100 whether they want it or not. Believe what you like but vaneck run an etf tracker not a carefully selected batch of stocks they have chosen themselves for a fund.

Most shares retrace across the daym doubly so if America goes down... Like is happening to a few shares right now for example.

Finch. Not only did he leave but he left early desput saying he would stay on until a CEO was appointed later in the year.

Yes because they had to buy. They didn't sit down and decide ggp was a good investment they were forced to buy the amount by mvis adding it to the index. They will sell it at whatever price on the day they are told to or buy more on a day they are told to. Etf make money from fees and they no more look to every single constituent making money than an owner of a ftse 100 or 250 etf expects. Wish people would stop making out some institution carefully did research and picked ggp out as a winning prospect to make them money! They didn't. I worked out they paid an average of £3.03 for hochschild shares which it hasn't been in about three years... The fact they paid something doesn't mean they're happy or that it was a price the share has to stay at.

Now we will get back up there with more news in the next few weeks but I don't think vaneck are sitting there watching the stock or care.

I think newcrest will just buy them all. I read somewhere they did that with some other partners assets in Canada.

Let me just say this as everyone is obviously silly... motley fool is a bunch of people writing freelance for it. Everyone has their opinions about a share, just like on this board. If one says buy and another don't that is no more a contradiction than asking people's opinions on here, getting 100 answers and then going GGP board contradicts itself every 5 minutes. Don't know why it is so hard to work out. Perhaps people just like to blame motely fool because they bought in at the wrong time or didn't do their research.

Indeed. A lot of countries have banned it and to be honest more should. Half the chaos seen during March and the subsequent recovery wouldn't have happened around the world if no shorters.

They keep saying they provide liquidity... bull. Most shares have no problems of being bought or sold when there are no shorts open on them (only obscure AIM companies it can be hard to buy or sell as standard). I think if people want to bet against the market then they should be allowed, in a betting account where it has no effect on reality, but not by using shares of other people.
