The real question now is how much of the percieved news dry spell is priced in. Ultimately it makes no difference to us what the share price is until it reaches your target or you feel the fundementals have changed since you bought in. Luckily the fundementals have only got better here so I'll just chill and wait
Good point, obviously similar market trends. I have noticed similar with Avacta (totally unrelated stock) in the last few months too which might suggest a wider trend? AIM magic, PI sentiment more generally, appetite for smaller companies given uncertain economic outlook etc
Odd that we would deviate from that which would back up the 'something going on' suggesting for sure. I just hope we get close to my target share price before any sort of nonsense happens. After the Q&A yesterday I am the mosy confident I have been with GGP in a while so I'll be ignoring the volatility until 2024!
While it's frustrating so see the last placing from an existing share holder POV, technically it shouldn't impact on the mcap (plus the extra cash). The company is in the same strong position it was in before, we just have more cash = good. I'm fairly relaxed, the possibility of making lots of money long term in this share is at worst the same as it was two months ago and I was comfortable then so I'm comfortable now
This happens the morning after every results day, then from 10:30am it rises to close (aside from the last one). Pretty confident we are back to normal again, strong news flow for the rest of the year. No reason to think it would be much nearer to the broker values within the next month or two at a push.
TS, always playing the long game, that'll be when things really start hotting up! ;)
Apologies for the double post earlier
I'm getting pretty hammered in my SIPP at the moment, luckily I can't draw it for another 30 years or so! I'm very excited about ECR, the recent dip seems to be hitting a few others too but I am bought in on the basis of a good news flow. A great time to be topping up

Morning all, new here but I just wanted to say how nice it is to read such a positive and informative board. A colleague of mine has been talking about this for a while, looking at the chart I felt I had missed the boat but the more I read the more convinced I am!
If it helps, it was hard to buy this morning in the mid 190s via HL
Not convinced the next Scally results will have the same impact as the last, the negative reaction has beeb worse than if Scally had never existed so it's a clear over reaction in my view. You'd hope a lack of gold in the next cores will be priced in at this point, it all helps to zero in on the real find.
I'm also tempted to think Scally is only partly to blame here, we will find out the details of some major institutional sells/buys in due course.
Looking on the GDXJ holdings it apears that as of yesterday is 17,609,221 at a value of $5,199,539. Someone better versed in this than me willl know if that has changed. It looks marginally higher than the last screenshot Paddy posted at the begining of the month
Greg, I hope so. We did always know Feb could be slow I guess. In the past year whenever we have seen significant movement it has been because of something going on in the background which attracts a lot of noise in here, not surprising but it does make it hard to find the posters with more to add than sheep like me...!
Dutch, I’ve been horribly spoilt by the last year of GGP! The reason I was in then is the same reason I topping up now. Totally understand Fenix’s position though, nice to have different views without pointless ramping and deramping noise
Hi Bamps, no worries, hugely thankful for your knowledge along with a few other posters. Not surprised you’re frustrated given a lot of the comments on here at the moment!
I feel a lot better knowing there are still some good posters left here after I sold nearly everything else I own to buy this dip...
Bamps, great post but if you are refering to what I said either you either misunderstood or didn't read what I said. I didn't post a negative statement (or any false information as you claimed) about Scally. I said there had been a huge over reaction and the negative market reaction had been greater than the impact of zero gold at Scally. On Hav alone this will be in the 60s.
Comment below for reference, the asterix wasn't added after... :
"Agreed, mostly because the fact that scally has no gold* has been more than priced in now, totally oversold.
*Scally is likely to have loads of gold, it’s just the first 4 throws at the dartboard weren’t quite at the bullseye"
They have to announce relevant info to the stock market but I don’t know if they can hold back the actual grades as you suggest. I imagine it would be received in the same way anyway.
I think I’d prefer they told us what they found and that they are using the info to target further drilling. I’m not too bothered about what it does to the share price week to week really, just looking forward to them zeroing in on the gold they think is there
