Every time I read 'oversubscribed' I think, 'well, why didn't you get a higher price then'?

The only reference in the RNS to 'single' is a single potential customer for the CNG.

I think we all accepted that a raise would come. It is the order and potential price which irk. I really did think the CPR would come first and provide a good uplift on resources and therefore put us in a better position for raising.

Perhaps PG wanted to wait for the CPR, but was told that testing would give more detail / confidence? Maybe the testing contractor was pushing for a commitment and had other work lined up?

The bottom line is that apart from a tiny volume of gas and a spoonful of hydrocarbons, described as the very lightest sheen, there is little or no sign of anything more, at the moment. The problem is that the company can do very little until they get decent visuals on the problem area and that is going to be a few days.

The old problem of bed space on the boat rears its ugly head again which might constrain the repairs but work on the tank continues and to be fair the CEO says that the regulator is very relaxed and the management are driven in their desire to ensure that the problem is solved swiftly.

Meanwhile elsewhere in the business life goes on, other assets are performing well and there is more M&A activity I’m sure and as can be seen in the statement the company is financially well set up and to be honest, if we must, a modest Montara shut down has always been in the plans, just in case.

I’m going to give them another chance and after todays news the market has made the stock even more attractive…

If you are avoiding placings / fund raises, that will make any investments in O&G exploration companies difficult. Unless you intend to just invest immediately after a raise, and sell before the next one. In which case that is trading, not investing.

IF there is a placing, given news and price action, 15p. But, could just issue to replace loaned shares, and sell part of the subsidiary.

He did say something along the lines of 'nothing beats the thrill of The Deal'? I too wonder if he is 'inside' - either as a HNW individual tapped for a placing, as an expert is lease financing (CNG plant and tankers), or running defence Vs hostile approaches / how to maximize value.

Pure speculation, and it could just be as it's the summer holidays and is on grandchild sitting duties, but if I was PG I'd try to harness the expertise and contacts.
