general sentiment on this one seems to be negative and results due soon, this week i think-help me out someone-wont be good i think i'll sell and get out at a loss, tied to the whole economy as a whole which is not in a good position now and for at least 2 more yrs! interesting how soon it lost its fizz today and fell from 25,i was going to sell at 25,thought wait maybe the mfi buyout news will keep pushing the sp up tommorrow, now loook whats happened. i have a small stake so my loss is nt big.
i did notice thison friday, but there are so many little known shares like this that go down massively and because you dont know them u just dont know if they'll recover,if i'd known it'd recover today i'd definitely had bought some on friday!
Moreover there were rumours circulating trading floors on Tuesday morning that the company was going to guide lower on its profits forecast. This probably emanated from a memo sent to all BHP staff from the chief executive Marius Kloppers that operational results during the next six months will be an important factor in the company's hostile bid for Rio. http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/news/columnists/article.html?in_article_id=447473&in_page_id=19&in_author_id=2246&position=moretopstories
if the roumour that bhp will guide down their results on wednesday,is true,is that as bad as results being below expectations/incurring loss as opposed to profit? and more importantly how will the market react to this?will this be a point of no return for the sp-at least in the mid term-and see the sp tank on wednesday? comments welcome.
Chile-focused copper miner Antofagasta goes up to 'buy' from 'hold' at Citigroup, with price target held at 800p following a 20% slide in the Metals and Mining sector since May's peak. The broker reckons the sector now represents good value. It also upped its target on Xstrata to 5,000p from 4,500p and kept the miner and peers Vedanta, Anglo American and First Quantum Minerals as a 'buy'. interesting there is no mention of bhp or rio!
