No to the first question, yes to the second. I think the company should be investigated too, they can't be allowed to keep getting away with this.

Yes I do refer to the 'news' of Umar as I believe that to be true though more than happy if that is proved to be wrong.

It had $850m revenue for the worst year under COVID - still not 'bugger all' and it went into administration July 2023 with revenues more than double this.

It did not have $8bn debt either as you are making the mistake of including lease liabilities which are not the same as loan debt at all (as the landlords found out to their cost).

There are loads of similarities with CINE but loads of differences too.

And BOO did have pretty big debt (I wouldn't say 'massive') in relation to the business and as indicated by some lenders refusing to renew their loans. Meanwhile CINE did undeniably have massive debts (even excluding the lease liabilities) but even then a lot were written off before the end came as part of the reorganisation when the new company rose phoenix from the ashes...

Anyway this is all just a distraction from how badly BOO are doing at the moment and how badly the management are acting - with the news about Umar just the latest in a long line of examples. That's the real story here. Wake up!

Give it a rest Bfd. Yes CINE's revenue during COVID was decimated (cinemas were shut!) but before the pandemic AND after when the company finally went under (for existing shareholders at least - it's still going for the new ones) it's revenue was a lot higher than BOOs.

I don't think it is the best comparison just that your assertion of 'bugger all revenue' is absolute rubbish. The one thing it never struggled on (pandemic period apart) was big revenue.

However, there are some similarities:

- Revenue fell due to external events and poor management

- Managers liked paying themselves big money

- Debts were increasing and they sold assets to try to tackle this

- They only released trading statements outside of reporting cycles when business showed any kind of upside (however temporary). Otherwise silence.

- The BB here still had supporters here who just couldn't see how dire things were

So not the best comparison but not a bad one either.

Let's just hope we don't suffer the same fate and that the business carries on but with the existing shareholders as well (rather than a third parties picking it up cheap from the wreckage as was the case with CINE).

You could be right Steve. If he was a real investor it's hard to believe he has any money left as he has an unerring knack of backing the wrong horse. In particular I'll never forget his bold sp predictions and outlook for IOG literally minutes before the wheels came off.

KK - Even though most of what you write is fluff and nonsense I do have more respect for you and the others on here that have been here a while, who clearly believe in QBT, than the mob who have turned up in the last week that are just looking for a quick trade based on the hype.

At least you and other LTHs are investing in something you genuinely think will succeed, however much I disagree with you. You could well turn out to be right (and rich) and then I’ll turn out to be silly having missed such a great opportunity. That’s life.

It’s the shameless pumpers like Sharebel that are the real problem. They feign belief just like on every other board they infest for a few weeks on the back of some event. The same names, the same approach and the same insincerity. At least they’ll all be gone soon.

Come back in a month and guarantee that 90% of the ‘rainbow chasers’ who have flooded this board in the last week will have disappeared and moved on to the next ‘pot of gold’ as most of them are actually just short term traders looking for a quick buck by catching a wave - not genuine believers.

You can tell by their running commentary of the sp, endless garbage about what the MMs are allegedly up to and abuse of anybody saying anything sensible.

Brew, I agree with some of the other posters - not the usual idiots who can't seem to challenge anything logically or without resorting to abuse, accusing you of being a paid shorter, asking (yet again, yawn) why you're here blah, blah - and suggest perhaps he just misspoke under the spotlight of the interview?

If you remove the 'or below' or say more explicitly that the method tells whether some (30%) are definitely above so don't bother with them then it makes sense (I think). How it does that is the big secret of course but assuming they can then I think it hangs together. It's not the first time he has tripped up (another one was when he was quoted as saying something like if they find a block after 7 minutes you can save energy by shutting down for the next 3 minutes until the next block comes along - which of course is nonsense).

So perhaps it's not a case of not understanding but just a temporary brain fade - especially as he's not speaking in his native language so things may not always come out as he intends.

So on this one I think you could cut him a bit of slack and hopefully he (or whoever else it is that talks) is more on point next week.

Why is out of date? Since then they have had zero revenue. Actually to be fair you’re right as the situation will be worse now.

Of course if they do get a deal or receive the court case money then that will all change but neither is certain and in the meantime every day sees the cash balance reduce further.

Revenue of £1.2bn looks about right but suspect the loss will be over £200m (before tax) and possibly even higher if there are any more one-offs over and above the £20m+ hit they’ve incurred from the selling the head office.

It’s a redesign but how big who knows but I agree, it won’t be total.

DSFLAT - yes but MARA developments are on optimising the performance of rigs not altering the chips themselves. So they may be interested and attend but they are not a potential partner being courted by QBT - that will be the chip manufacturers who will need to redesign and produce the new Method C boosted chips - and as stated by FG.

I think you'd be better off blaming Sharebel Jonny. He tends to have this impact on any share he turns up on (IOG was a particular classic). I know it's time to sell when he shows up and time to buy when he disappears so never mind the questions I have about QBT I'll just wait until he goes before investing my money ;-)
