Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
A very balanced set of results, everything going in the right direction, divi held as promised, more wells are being drilled, there to me is a sense of hope with the Exxon deal being approved. A sniff of a special divi too, anoh as expected (delayed). Different thread please read report from bbc on world oil prices. As always keep holding those golden nuggets. Just looking at the Exxon proposed deal, I had forgotten how massive this will be if approved, some good coverage for seplat at the Nigerian energy conference this week too. It’s encouraging to hear that the deal negotiations may be progressing to a much needed conclusion, but I think there is some truth in what has been speculated. It’s clear that Nigeria needs to grasp the helping hand the seplat is proposing and it makes common sense to thrash deal out and move on. I sort of remembered there is an update soon approaching on seplats results does anyone know when please. Well I will keep holding fingers and toes crossed, good luck everyone. Regards H.
Hi everyone, looking at the latest rns things are progressing albeit at a mediocre pace, in that I mean although the percentage increases sound impressive over the last few years there have been a massive store roll out imo, that has digressed the profit into reinvestment. Although there is nothing wrong with this it’s hard to draw any real share rises because of this. In time this will reward us shareholders, but not for a few more years I think. With a huge share dilution last year to bolster up the reserves I would like to see dpp halt the store rollouts take a breather for say a year and then evaluate then if viable carry on. I like Poland but there is a awful lot of choice in the take away market, from what I have seen pizza is a popular thing but local pizza businesses are not as good as domino’s because of the better quality ingredients that are used. I hope in time things will finally achieve what is needed here, but until then I will add shares where I can looking at a 3/5 year plan. I think 15p is not unrealistic by the end of 2024. Again these are my own thoughts so good luck to you all. Regards H.
Yes I had noticed that, do you think seatank that the mms are closing some positions ready for the next leg up? It happened again one day last week, something must be stirring I’m sure time will tell, fingers crossed.
So pleased and surprised to see Bonny light just tipped over 96$ a barrel over the weekend, looking promising to go over the $100 mark soon, keep holding the golden nugget shares seplators your pats it’s will be rewarded 😉
Hi seatank so to the untrained eye, nnpc have now softened their stance, or maybe have thought actually we would benefit from this deal going through financially of course. But just in case the nnpc have made it very clear we endorse such/any deals but don’t forget us while these multi million agreements are being drawn up ! To me now I’m tired of the cheap shots and shenanigan's certain individuals have pulled to hinder this deal going through, just give seplat a discussion one way or the other and let the company move on. Welcome seplatwinner some great info you have bought to the board, oh and where is TOD ? Bahamas maybe 😊 anyway good luck all regards H.
A little off subject, I have noticed that the bonny light oil price is fast approaching $90 a barrel now, this looks like it still has some more pace in it. news on the newly elected oil ministers in tinubus cabinet cant be too far away, I think until then things will stay a little in the doldrums. Seplat still looking very promising, its also good too see the share price holding at this level, with news on ANOH,exxon and the increasing oil price. Thankyou seatank et all for the continuing news flow and forecasts. As always GL all Regards H.
Results to me as expected, seplat still doing what it does best, encouraging to see everything still on track, with all the turmoil with currency change, fuel subsidies quashed it was to be expected that some private investors cashed in on the rapid rise over the last month. I find it re assuring that there wasn’t any huge sell offs in the day to day trading. I’m guessing as usual the MMs are cashing in on share volatility after an informative not a block busting rns. So keep those golden nuggets, keep taking the divis that are on offer, patients as always is the key, steady as she goes with the great ship seplat. Thankyou for all the latest posts and info. It’s very much welcome, T.OD. what’s your take, apprieciate any Input you have. As always G.L. all regard s H.
Interesting read that, Nnpc clearly hints it’s in search for business opportunities in Nigeria, it has a ipo very shortly raising money to fund acquisitions in proven assets in and around Nigeria, well will that be seplat, that would be a turnaround again this is just a hunch and a wild opinion of mine 😊😊
Fingers crossed the rumours are true, if they are true I think this will be a deal that will be swiftly pushed through. Any one have any ideas on time lines ? Thanks H
Hi seatank, thanks for your insight it’s never far off the mark, I seem to recall somewhere about 6 weeks ago or so I read that mnpu were looking for a 70/30 split or negotiating something in those realms to ‘sweeten’ the impending deal to go ahead. I might be completely wrong and this is my thoughts only. I was also wondering would you have any thoughts on what kind of agreement could be sought to get over the line as it was? Kind Regards H.
Just combing the news found this snippet of news, not mind blowing but wpexplains some of the shinanigans that went on….. https://guardian.ng/news/court-awards-n2m-fine-against-seplat-energy-for-suing-wrong-persons/
Seplat is again moving along nicely, there has been some large after hour trades this week, I’m hopeful news is soon. Keep holding them golden nuggets (shares) although it’s mighty tempting to top slice 😊regards H.
Is it me or does anyone else have the feeling that an announcement is very close, there were a few large trades sneaked through yesterday and the SP is being held/stalled., at or around the £1.20 mark, I really wish I was a patiant man lol regards H.
Hi gavster, yes I completely agree, I personally think the deal is closing in and the grasping at straws scenario has taken effect. It’s clear to me the new oil minister is very keen in bring Nigeria to heel although kicking and screaming, change is coming and the ‘ good old days’ of cheap subsidised fuel, gas are at a end. New investment is sorely needed and that’s why progress in old anti quated ways and laws need a breath of fresh air. We shall wait pataintly as ever but a glimpse of light is appearing at the end of this long tunnel! ( well I hope)😊regards H.
Rns, well I think it’s a positive, yes of course it is, Exxon obviously want to keep the deal alive so granted more time for approval, interesting Exxon have agreed a ‘share’ of the product figures until things have been sorted. It can’t be that far away now surely. regards H.
Please click the link and follow the latest update on seplat, a good read and its very positive and its onwards and upwards for me, as always GL all Regards H.

I m assuming the "time table" that seplat refers too is everything being settled / tied up before the new president replaces buhari before the end of may ? Yes to me also it looks incredably promising and measures look like they are being layed for a next level of governance. Exciting stuff. As always GL all regards H.
Hi all, Fitch ratings has just released (well 12 april) the latest rating for seplat, it does provide some interesting facts and reasons for the rating of B- to me its worth a look. as always GL all Regards H.
