Keadby 2 power station currently being built in N Lincolnshire. Ooo La La ! Biscathorpe. The cleanest and most-efficient gas-fired power station in Europe. Will be able to be upgraded to further decarbonise through carbon capture or hydrogen technology, as things develop.

Then we have Keadby 3 - the UK’s first power station equipped with carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology by the mid-2020s. That's under consultation.

Recently:

ExxonMobil pledged $3 billion to the development of a carbon capture and storage business over the next five years.

Elon Musk tweeted a prize of $100 million for the best carbon capture technology.

Bill Gates, Amazon and British Airways are backing a hydrogen plane startup

Equinor .. Research the Northern lights.

I suggest you do some research. Infact it was on Five Live this morning discussing nuclear power, expensive and an eye sore an some don't trust nuclear. Wind farms, including floating ones, but if you have no wind, you have no power and again an eye sore on the coast line. Though they are working on better storage with batteries for wind farms. Fossil fuels are still high up the list. For now.. natural gas and oil are key. BUT the Humber will move with the industrial revolution.

At the centre of his blueprint are the UK’s industrial heartlands, including in the North East, Yorkshire and the HUMBER, West Midlands, Scotland and Wales, which will drive forward the green industrial revolution and build green jobs and industries of the future.

Hydrogen: Working with industry aiming to generate 5GW of low carbon hydrogen production capacity by 2030 for industry, transport, power and homes, and aiming to develop the first town heated entirely by hydrogen by the end of the decade.

Carbon capture: Becoming a world-leader in technology to capture and store harmful emissions away from the atmosphere, with a target to remove 10MT of carbon dioxide by 2030, equivalent to all emissions of the industrial HUMBER today.

I don't think anything is imminent.

CJ said : 'a major payday is imminent! ' implying, about to happen. That would be great, but I disagree. I think David will want the best value for West Newton & we will be returning to WN B soon as possible.

My guess is the Reabold Q and A session will be 'investor friendly' to give us all confidence in where we stand over the next few months. Smiling pretty in their suits - a well polished pair.

I do not think we will get volumetrics until after EWT.

If I am wrong then great. There is outstanding potential here and patience will be rewarded.

Will Gardiner From Drax and Dan Sadler from Equinor both have very realistic approaches. This is about the world working together which requires collaboration and investment. The Humber ticks many of the boxes in a green industrial revolution and in decarbonising a huge industrial cluster.

Natural Gas from West Newton would be one way of producing Hydrogen. This will take time and money to reconfigure pipe work, the distribution network and domestic boilers. The Gas from West Newton will be very valuable whether it is sold now as natural gas or in the future to be made in to Hydrogen. In my mind David will have no problem selling our Gas to a refinery/energy company, and my guess is he is already in talks. The Oil too has multiple uses and oil can not just be written off as a commodity. This is about a smooth transition over many years for the whole world. You can not just rely on solar panels on roofs or wind farms for immediate power. There are many new ideas being researched with big investment being made and it is about having a level headed approach.

As for Oil, the lack of investment in to oil has already pushed the price up recently with the lack of supply, decline in US and Chinese stockpiles and OPEC are working together better. Goldman Sachs predict 65$/barrel this July. Travel will resume - vaccines. Predictions of up too 100 $/ Barrel being mentioned. So yes.. Union Jack’s Oil will be in demand for many years.

The COP26 summit in November will bring parties together to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change. It will be a very important meeting.

To me it is very clear that West Newton is an impressive Gas find. As Malcy said in the week we don’t really need to flow test it, but we will. I do not think we will ever drill WN C or D. It is all part of the 'for sale' board to add value. We have our AA Carbon Intensity study which again is a huge tick from Union Jack Oil to do our part in heading towards climate change.

So my point Mirasol is whilst Union Jack in itself won’t contribute directly, it’s the ‘Asset’ of West Newton which is of importance here.

IMO we are looking at some quality interest going on in the background. There is growing pressure on every country to meet climate goals. The Humber region is the UK’s largest emitter of carbon dioxide. The companies based around us from Drax, Equinor, Keaby projects, CCUS etc are a massive plus . Hydrogen (blue and green) being one of the popular resolutions from Motorsport and airplane to domestic boilers. It will all be happening with big money thrown at it .

Also, the lack of investment in oil and supply are already pushing the oil price up.

Ironically you could argue the likes of Ruth Hayhurst has done too good a job that is VERY much in our favour. Over the next few years Union Jack Oil should only thrive as the plans are rolled out strategically in the areas where our assets are all based.

I'm dead chuffed to see that on the BBC.

Well, most oil production has a small amount of gas to flare.
