The larger picture of the 'whole economy ' , not just the power sector looks kinda like this...

Dependance on fossil fuels in the Netherlands is 90 % ... 35 % is Oil of total energy

Japan fossil fuels 88 % ....

USA fossil fuels 81 %

Spain fossil fuels 72 % .... oil is 42 % ...solar is king.

Renewables are a substitute for coke an natural gas.

France fossil fuels is 45 %

Norway fossils fuels 45 %

Russia fossil fuels 90 %

China fossil fuels 87 %

Turkey 83 %

Brazil 54% ...biomass /ethanol

Solar an wind have very little impact on oil use. These countries I have listed are still very dependent on fossil fuels....even with ALL of the money spent so far on green energy.

With the price cap rising I doubt they will see a penny. The £200 taken off of our bills in October will be reapplied over the next few years. National insurance goes up soon, community charge, food bills...inflation is rising. What will our government do ..raise interest rates again ? This adds to mortgage payments. And remember those responsible for raising interest rates are NOTHING to do with out energy decisions for the UK . Yet they are stimulating the oil price upwards.

Apologies to all of you supermarket workers out there. You do a fabulous job including all of those online shop vans hurrying around an delivering my shopping twice a week. Very nice men and women from Waitrose an Sainsburys. Up an down they go non stop. What a lazy world we live in. But Oil is the new future .
