Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Hi NTD,
Welcome to the asylum. The first thing to say is please ignore everything that I and anybody else says on these boards. Some are almost always negative (Dr Doom) some are eternal optimist (me) and none of us know how the stock market will behave going forward, let alone oil prices or Genel.
I would however also say that this board has some of the most articulate and thoughtful posters I have ever come across.
That being said all investments decision can only be made on what we know and then hope these things happen. In Genels case as hydrogen mentioned we have had a fantastic few weeks considering oil prices.
All investments should be based on future prospects and ours are in my opinion fantastic.
I wish you all good luck my friend.

It all seems very quiet with Genel but this isn't a normal company and it what we don't know that will either make our fortune or put us in the doldrums.
So much going on that we didn't hear about day to day and news on any of these could land any day
Bina Bawi agreement
Sarta ahead of plan
Qara Dagh spud announced
Somaliland farmin
Morocco Partner
New Assets
So a bit like the swan all is going ahead sweetly and serenely but behind the scenes going like hell....
Heres to some positive news shortly........

Very interesting.....
This oil price currently is awful for shale but also bad for Russia and definitely for Opec.
It seems they only have one weapon in there arsenal ad that it to reduce production.
As you say we could get a very decent boost if they give us some good news....

Hi Romeike, sorry you think that I have posted mainly bull**** and I will never fall out with anybody on a bulletin board.
If you let me know the bits that are bull**** I will gladly post the source they came from.
All the best

Hi BTF,
Hows tricks.....
You must be a millionaire by now...Some good investments over the years.
Love to know whats going on with Tullow but hopefully all will be revealed shortly.
Just seems very very cheap to me at the moment and with shale allegedly imploding all should work out. If the big fella puts in a bid all the better.
Stay lucky.....

So what do we know of Samuel Dossou-Awoert.
We know that by Tuesday 17th December he had amassed 7% of the shares in Tullow.
We know that the Benin native co-founded a pan-African exploration company called Energy Africa in 1994, was acquired by Tullow Oil 15 years ago for $500 million (€448 million). The transformational deal doubled the size of Tullow at the time, giving it assets from Ghana to Namibia along the west coast of Africa.
We know that on Jan 24 he raised his stake again to 9.67% from an earlier stake on 7.06%.
We know his original holding stemmed from shares he received as part payment for the sale of a company called Energy Africa to Tullow Oil for $500 million (€454 million).
We know in early December Tullow Oil’s acting chief has said the company is open to takeover offers in light of its shares plummeting by nearly 72% on it cutting its production outlook, suspending dividend payments, and parting company with its CEO and exploration director.
We know he said this recently about Tullow....“This is my baby,” Mr Dossou-Aworet said from his office in Geneva on Tuesday. “Even if it is not a first class company today I believe it can be. It is about people. A company is about people and assets. And I am confident in the assets.
We know that on 31st January he AGAIN increased his stake to 11%.
We know that the Times has said a source had talked about a low ball offer for the company.
What do dont we know ?????

Boyobach, People should not be investing in Genel with “pay the bills money”. It’s clear to all what the catalyst are this year... Bina Bawi, Sarta, Qara Dagh, Somalialand news, etc etc...
Re where the price will go you may well be right given this blooming virus but likewise as we have seen recently Genel rarely does as expected...
Here’s to a good Friday...,

Sadly I think there may be a way to go yet.
The situation in China is grim to say the least and could get worse.
We have had payment issues, USA, Iran and now China……And its only Janaury.
On the other side Bina Bawi could cone our way any day and a host of other good news
Keep the faith………

Aaah Dr Doom is back.
Genel is behaving exactly as it should given oil prices. In fact it’s been behaving better than it should....
It’s a time of patience as alway and dividend collection......
All is good. Buy whilst it cheap......

Whats he up to if anything I wonder ?????

So I guess all in all a pretty good day....
Very very please the way it’s going and how well it’s holding up..
The question is why is Genel behaving so well....
Is someone loading up such as Bilgin.
Is Bina Bawi about to be sprung.
Is the investor roadshows having an effect.
Is it Sarta production being due soon.
Is it Qara Daga which could be a big fish.
Is our Somaliland partner about to be named.
Is there new assets about to be taken over.
Is someone looking to buy Genel whole..
Or is Hawkey rambling again.....
