It’s got ADNOC plastered all over it. If they were the only prospective buyer and no deal had yet been agreed I would think that even an indirectly endorsed research note outing them would irk them if not impinge on NDAs.

So that could be inferred to either mean deal is done with ADNOC and we’ll find out tomorrow or that their name is being thrown out there to leverage other bidders.

Very interesting read and makes sense of some recent US policy. Regardless of how that works out, even just squatting on prime resource real estate would seem a good strategy to catch the next super cycle. Paul maybe spot on in shoring up the balance sheet with small production, no debt, multiple licences and no need to further place. I’m certainly happy to wait.

I think you maybe right. It’s not just the loan, if he still owns a big chunk of shares (he says he’s a shareholder) he too will want the share price to rise and won’t be happy with the timeframes from current events, especially if he’s in the position of knowing there is really positive news to be confirmed.

He’s a human being subject to same psychology as everyone else. More so that his commentary to date has staked his ego to the outcome. There will be emotion connected to those sales, not just rational analysis

I read the implication to be that as it’s 100m further down dip than expected, the NW bank of carbonates may see it thicken so 3d seismic is needed for proper volumetrics, but even a 50m interval over such a large structure is huge. A great result but can’t call it commercial discovery until volumes are calibrated and petrophysical analysis complete. Doubt theyll have problems finding a farminee

If the gas is either there or it isn’t, how is it any more of a risk? In terms of derisking mou5 drilling the whole column is going to tell you a lot more in one action than any testing of the thin end of the wedge in mou4.

Not Keith and not a geologist (happy to be corrected by wiser folks), but the two systems are not connected in terms of origin of the gas or in terms of reservoir geology. Mou 5 is a thermogenic gas source (deep gas kitchen in source rocks) and the reservoir itself is Jurassic carbonates rather than the sands found in the moulaya fan. Whilst the carbonates intersect the mou4 well I don’t think that the suggestion is that the thermogenic gas charged the moulaya fan. Instead the moulaya fan gas source is biogenic - from shallower decay of organic material trapped by multiple inversions and the carrier beds are permeable sands in the reservoir.

The chances of flow should be fairly independent of each other in that each reservoir has different geology and drilling requirements and likely different pressures in the reservoirs.
