Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Also Suzy I don't think BEM care about a few quarters here or there as long as the board are getting paid they have no incentive to change. 80k mistakes and huge funding costs for interim loan financing. Cash to Kosovo and dabble in Batteries on a part time basis and abandon LT holders, especially in the UK. ADF quip the other day was not far off about not needing us . Incentives for the BOD that have no link to delivery dates or the SP smacks of a board marking it's own homework.
It is only my opinion and it is not negativity but after 14monthss and 2 weeks post concession is what I see as a poorly run business.
No Suzy I meant 18 months. Equally I could have done a BEM and cut and paste, like their RNS', with a made up date.
Ibjj - what I don't get is really what has the company really been doing for the last 18 months. Ulla seems to be chipping away at Kallak, but what have the others been doing.? Paying for a PFS in Finland and putting dibs on another site is but a few phone calls. Giving cash to Kurt's Uni mates in Kosovo is also only a few clicks on the BEM banking app. Is working for BEM like being a UK MP - other jobs on the side in a safe seat and only turning up for the camera and regurgitating soundbites and having the odd meeting when it suits? IMO
Nah you have all got it wrong - Sweden won the Eurovision thingy and the SP is going to rocket because the Sami are now happy due to their Reindeer starting to dance as the song is resonating with the iron at Kallak that is giving off happy vibes (I swear it was in the last RNS; I read it between the lines).
;-)
Eric- you are normally quite balanced but IMO I find Pocko's post very relevant and pertinent and find you way off on this one, but each to their own.
80k woopsie =P45 Kurtsie. So much for the respect part of the ethos, as they don't have much for LTers.
Eric - RE Kurt leaving with immediate effect. He may well have done, but is entitled to his notice period and his options. The company would have to pay him off in one go or, as sometimes happens, have him on gardening leave and keep paying him for the notice period. We may never know, but it smells either way. CSP went soon after gifting investors money to Agricola and maybe Kurt went after gifting too much of investors money to his Uni chums running Kosovo. It is as clear as mud but shareholders deserve better and far more accountability than they get, got or probably will ever from this disappointment of a company.
Fewer salaries? Kurt is still on the payroll. I guess he is on a 6 months notice period.
The only thing that is happening in the background is shareholders are getting done over, the board is getting paid and the usual thinks and hopes are just that.
I'd like to know how long is the company paying for Kurt's sebatical and his over generous and seemingly never ending options rights.
Eric it would appear that it was an oversight, but in reality it is gross misconduct and fuel to the Sami and many detractors.
Eric - I'll check and read what and when I like chap. I really don't care what you do or don't get about anyone's decision to read or not read the board.
Suzy- I'll also comment on what I like when I like, which you should have twigged by now. When I do look in here how can anyone be expected to find anything amongst the innanity you appear to enjoy so much.
Maybe the board is so quiet because of the innanity on here. Just a thought ATB
Read my comment Suzy. I don't.
Very touchy Eric. Vacuous or vacuous truth in that it doesn't say anything.
The standard on this board is you and Suzy double team against anyone that remotely thinks in an opposing fashion to you. This company is laughable at present with the SP reflecting it and talk of should and could with a bit of Bellini and weeding thrown in is vacuous IMO. Being blindly positive hasn't worked with BEM and any rational person can see that - hoping that an RNS on a PFS is going that make the SP rocket is also vacuous and logic defying.
Oh and Suzy I don't waste my time on this board like yourself and Eric seem to do on a daily basis, as my BEM investment is written off in my mind unfortunately. This company went public at about 6p and well over a decade later it is sat at under 2p. Concession or not the only beneficiaries have been the board, their mates and a lucky few traders. If this share was sat at 20p then your comments would be valid - alas it and they are not....
You are right Pocko. It is vacuous on this board. Generally 2 voices filling their time on here with a smattering of personal fears, apologies and unwavering and unfounded optimism. Rinse and repeat.
I love a good conspiracy theory - how about this one...Budgie tried to negotiate funding and position himself with his Uni buds for the spin off of Vardar for a big cash injection and nowt to BEO, the board got wind of it and flung him out on his ear?
Sounds a good event. I wonder how many erms/minute Kurt will be running at.
Careful and deliberate - that's a good one Eric, especially as there was really no new patter in the presentation.
It wasn't a very inspiring pitch and I want this to fly. Grading of a C- from me.
to Minister of Finance Elisabeth Svantesson (M)
The inland railway runs through a very rich raw material landscape where mining, metal and forest-based industries dominate. The availability of stable transport capacity by rail is important for competitiveness at the same time as climate change is the greatest challenge of our time and ever higher demands are placed on the transport sector.
At EU level and at national and local level, transport targets have been set, but society at large is also today demanding innovative and sustainable transport solutions. Within railways, the possibilities of converting diesel-powered freight trains to hydrogen operation and using hydrogen-powered trains to transport hydrogen from production facilities to end users in industry are being investigated. The hydrogen technology is an alternative to the diesel-powered trains.
Hydrogen-powered fuel cells are a possible sustainable and long-term solution for operation on the Inlandsbanan, which lacks the possibility of wired electric operation.
By using hydrogen-powered fuel cells as an energy carrier for the electrical operation, where hydrogen is produced as electrolysis with excess energy from green electricity, no carbon dioxide emissions are emitted, only water vapor. Inlandsbanan now has the ambition to create a prioritized completely green freight corridor through half of Sweden with no carbon dioxide emissions and is thus an important step in providing industry players with sustainable and efficient transport.
As a result of this, Inlandsbanan is investigating the possibility of upgrading Inlandsbanan and converting the trains that run on non-electrified railways to hydrogen operation. At the same time, there is a demand for new railway capacity in northern Sweden's interior, not least from the mining and mineral industry.
Before the 2022 election, therefore, the now governing party Moderaterna Inlandsbanan AB promised that the state would lend 9 billion to equip the Inlandsbanan, but since then there has been silence from the new government and the finance minister.
Jokkmokk Iron is now in full swing with its application to the Land and Environmental Court to be allowed to open an iron ore mine in Kalla, about four miles outside Jokkmokk. To ship the ore out, the company sees the Inlandsbanan railway line, which passes through Jokkmokk, as a long-term sustainable solution.
In connection with this, I would like to ask Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson:
Does the minister intend to consider any funding initiatives to ensure that climate-smart hydrogen-powered trains can start operating on the Inlandsbanan, and is the minister otherwise considering any funding initiatives to ensure that the state contributes to efficient and climate-smart transport from Kallak?
Based upon the presentation I left thinking we were looking to mine a new resource mineral across all three countries. Not only were we looking at iron, graphite and the stuff in Kosovo but the new ore called 'erm'. Sounds expensive and the amount of times it was mentioned there must be a lot of it. I haven't found it on a google search - can anyone elucidate? ;-)
