I think currently we are entering Oil and Gold cycles revival for the next 2 to 3 years..financial shares is under my radar now. 90% of my current holdings in these sectors. Genel and GKP are two of them. Please Do your own research before hand. Morning all....looking at all posts including mine and I think we need to be a bit more cautious after the fireworks last night between Israel and Iran and this may escalate through out the region and it sounds to me more instability in the region. Our G in that region and the market fears always play a big part in sp movements. I caution people not to put all their eggs in one basket....this is not necessarily a one horse race with the current developments . What goes up can come down. Fundementals with G are great but with increasing geopolitical risk and do not forget Iraq is controlled by Iran and iranians backed militias rule Iraq and thousands of them are in Syria fighting along side the Iranian militias. Diversity is always a safer option. There are many other solid companies with great prospects including oilies. Be a bit greedy but not too greedy. I do not want to see people lose money. Maybe I am the oldest person here but definitely learnt from over 30 years mistakes and over excitement. Take care and invest safely. GLA

Hydrogen....I think Trump decision on Iran deal was taken a while ago and part of a much bigger plan than what we hear. Three days ago 34 usa navy ships arrived in the Gulf with two usa aircrafts carriers...one on the Israeli coast neal Lebanon and the other one in the Gulf of Oman. There over a hundred Patriotes bases shipped to SA,uae,Bahrain and some in Kuwait. Israeli military sent combat units on the border of Syria...Golan Heights and Huzballah military on lebanon border with Israel with its missils units. So it is all getting very serios threatening huge supply of oil to the world....hence oil price is not coming down soon and the only way is up. G will climb rapidly to 287 resistance. GLA

JL...I could not agree more. The like of Iranian regimes must be challenged and stopped of achieving their ultimate ambitions of becoming a nuclear power in the most unstable region. This regime is responsible for the mayhem in many countries in that region and a cause of grave concerns. Trump is right and spoke bravely the obvious of what most people think of this regime and the Micky mouse nuclear deal that emboldened iranian regime to expand with its ruthless militias across ME causing death and destruction and millions of refugees. Trump will be remembered as the bravest usa president for a very long time and do not be surprised if he is nominatedfor nobel prize for peace! Turning to our beloved G ...Iran is one of the main influence on Iraq central government to reconcile with krg , and hopefully the central government in Baghdad will now be emboldened to reach a deal with the krg and for G to unravel its massive potentials. Iranian government did not want any reconciliation with krg in Erbil but to destroy it and to have control on all its resources through the Iraqi central government. Great hope for G sp today and GL

Well... oil goes down then up. As it happens...sell on the news then take a new position. Oil price will climb up heading towards $80 hopefully before the end of this month.

Imo Trump will pull out from Iran deal and re impose sanctions and add more penalties on Iran. The Iranian policies in ME are causing mayhem and destabilising many usa allies there and threatening Israel and other allies security. He has no other choices but to pile the pressure on. Geopolitical instability and further supply interruption logically lead to higher oil prices.Or the oil market might look at it differently in the short term then reversing up again. 7 pm all will be revealed and Trump might surprise us all....with something else!?

Hi H I am in stocks and shares, premium bonds as a safe heaven with a shot in the dark and some spare cash. No debt. No funds , had investments trusts in the past. Long time isa holders three of my family members and old sipp.in addition to share accounts. Bulk of my investments oil,energy and-gold mines .....sold a few company mines recently My research now on financials as fundementals and dividends are getting better and tgey have lagged the marketsfor a long time but for agood reason then but not now....I do not have any yet. I hold large chunks of TLW and PMO ,PFC, and some Enq for a while too. Good Luck

Hi JL Thank you for your ever great views and writing skills. Well I buy and sell on fundementals and numbers of balance sheets and my costly mistakes of using my emotions and hopes in addition following to ramping ,derampings by many (not in this blog) for their undeclared interests and my previous foolish decisions to be following the herds of those .....I decided to get real and desciplined and only following my own research and company fundementals and the qualities of ceo of his,her past successes and failures. I manage quite a large sum of three portfolios of myself and two others in the family so cannot afford to speculate too much. I looked at the present ftse and its p/e and the current ceconomic climate in uk with the uncertainty surrounding brexit and around the world around us with the summer season coming in fast.....I reached a conclusion to sell in May though gradually but will leave and holding genl and gkp. My average with genl now is around the 132 mark and gkp 118 so I am chuffed with these star players and I am keeping them for now with a stop loss points. Sell in May for me depends on the year and the level of ftse value. In the current year the ftse now is fully valued now and toppy and may go further this week and I will be selling the rest of the shares and sit on cash for another oppurtunity to dive in and they always are around the corner and at the end of the summer. I would not miss a lot now as I did fairly well this year. I do respect your views a great deal and others too and I may turn to be wrong buy for me I made asmall fortune to run with now before this volatile market changes its mind! I do not buy and hold fo more than 2 -3 years and definitely sell half of my share when it doubles and keep the rest running for a free if I believe there is no better company to invest.The is always an exception as with Genl now and I just cannot find a better fundementals with other companies. H. You maybe right and I maybe wrong .....though the ftse at this level now with toppish level does not have much further to go and coming into the summer period. Just my view. Iam holding genl and gkp for now. Sometimes we need to step back for a period of calm and recollection. In my age I do not like to plunge myself in uncertainities of the present. I need clearer water to settle. I am optimistic on uk shares after the summer period when I will be back investing again selectively. By the way Ocelot is more accurate in numbers than me though I am not far behind but still learning

Drax.....then sp was 239 Centrica...then was 123 Hikma....then was 900 Acacia (high risk )...then was 138 Go Ahead...then was 1380 Hochschild...then was 196 Just examples and not recommendations. I own most of these bought recently I sold most of them on 1/5/2018 as I do believe in sell in May and go away! I am selling more next week and stay in cash as the ftse P/E is now more than 15 heading to more than 18 and this is toppy for me. I do follow balance sheets and numbers and stock screener. Sorry H...can not give names of shares I have as I am selling the lots and leaving genl and gkp for now. I feel the market may go into correction soon ,more like after middle of May-June

H... Greencore is not for a faint hearted.... Its return of investment is going down to 1.15% from over 6%. Industry average is around 9%. Any figure under 4% is a no no no to be on the safe side. Total debt to equity just over 76% ( any figure over 40% is considered risky) Do further research and use your good judgement. Market is right in most cases....catching a falling knife not a good idea either.

JL and H...I think the analysis is very positive and there is no real negatives. I still believe G is a five star share and on which ever corner and valuation you try ....it is still very undervalued. H..regarding the sp will be over �3 by end of June...I think the sp will hit �3 before end of This month and I am a long holder of G because I am looking forward to see sp �6+. Huge potentials for the upside with its tapped and untapped assets. Genel has an interest in six Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs) with the Kurdistan Regional Government. It is the largest producer of oil and is the largest holder of reserves in the Kurdistan Region with interests in the Taq Taq and Tawke fields. GLA
