George Frangeskides, Chairman at ALBA, explains why the Pilbara Lithium option ‘was too good to miss’. Watch the video here.
This wasn't in the script of a good RNS - if I recall, the script back in October did say, "between mid-November and the end, this should triple".... although, this is early days and after you shake a fizzy drinks can, you need time for it to settle before you open it! - poor analogy, but..... hopefully, it will come good??
Just reflecting on the last 18 months as a relatively minor investor/ shareholder….. I’m neither a ramper or de-ramper - just a straightforward investor/shareholder, who is down 15% when oil prices have actually risen since my investment.
As a shareholder that is going the wrong way and I know some will say give it time, but the overall graph of share price (that I can see) shows 54% down from the start.
I’m not a trader, so my investment was there to hopefully grow. It hasn’t and we also had the “let’s get to the three’s” the other year and the mystery seller, and here we are again.
At the minute, I just can’t see it - all I read is large pay packets to the BoD who did take that initial gamble and many views on what quantity of oil per day UOG are “actually” producing, as in their share…. too many differing figures tbh.
So, yesterday I banged out with a loss. I will look in from time to time and if I see fresh shoots, I will consider becoming a shareholder again.
Until then
Good Luck All
You also have to look at the amount of share trades per day….the company is in the shadows wrt trading on a bigger scale - plus anytime the price starts to go up giving a glimmer of hope, there are sells to quash it’s pretentious rise.
There are no real returns for investors at this present time - any money appears to be funding the boards wages!!
A good presentation is not going to bolster a pathetic 10 trades in a day - what the actual…..
I have resigned to the fact that this isn’t going anywhere soon - can’t even say it’s like a good wine, even that gets better over time.
It is a crazy price - but I seriously can’t see the growth we know it should be, with a mediocre 42 trades (Friday).
Not sure how the company can address this, as presently there is no incentive to keep hold (no dividends) apart from a prospectors faith in that it will come good.
I’m in for the long run, but it is frustrating when on the back of some +ve news, I see a dip in the price… hey ho, you have to be in it :-)
There are some people who have openly said that they want out and are slowly selling their stock - and it’s reflected in the SP - the extremely low volume of trades is also a factor, investors further afield need to take an interest…imho.
It is disappointing to see the stock slowly lower each day even when the company seem to be in a good place - almost as cruel as seeing a fish out of water and it slowly gasp for air….. however, when I keep looking every other day at a long term investment that’s what I’m going to see…… I should just check in once a month??? But the curiosity on how my investment is doing gets the better of me.
We can only have a share price increase if people buy and trade in larger volumes - having 2 trades in 3 hrs this morning isn’t exactly getting the ball rolling.
I still find it hard to fathom that a company that is making money has such a low SP - I will stick to engineering and let the financiers amongst you discuss.
Sentiment alone will not drive this forward.
My small buy also shows as a sell??? Can’t trust the site to display accurately the state of play.
Even with an RNS, there will still be a systematic selling. This has to be a long term hold, as looking at the small amount of trades each day, there will be a very slow rise in SP….. one day the market will wake up and see the potential. Until then, I’m happy to hold.
@O2 - hopefully patience does pay.... often difficult to see after a trigger event from a qualified accountant and co.. It still does seems pretty quiet from the board, I think now would be the time to stand up and earn those rock star wages and give fresh confidence to the investors...... we might not like what we hear, but hearing nothing amplifies uncertainty and people may jump to the wrong conclusion.
As Delia Smith once famously said...........“Where are you, let’s be havin you”.....
Agree with the sentiment - throughout my career I have looked at a strong leader to inspire and give confidence when in rough seas or the doldrums— whilst what they did with regard to warrants, requires no justification from myself, it would be good to hear from the captain of our ship, to give the investors a whiff of confidence that he is still at the helm and keeping us on course.... he just needed to change tack.
This would also give investor confidence in a period of flux and the potential for the SP to get a bit of momentum.
I work in the aviation sector - so far I havent seen a viable alternative to fossil fuels for a cost effective medium to keep those aircrafts engines turning and giving the necessary thrust to take-off...... personally, I cant see this going green, either in the civil or military sector.... we will need oil and its counter products for a long time to come... even with fuel efficient Turbo-fans.
I can’t say I’m happy seeing my investment go down by £thousands over a couple of days - that’s what the fuss is about..... it’s not good for confidence and trust in what the board are doing.
For a Long Term Investor, I’m just slowly drip-buying on the lows and accumulating my holding - there is no rush on my part.
Akin to planting a seed for tree - Do I want a soft, fast growing tree, that is weak and easily damaged or a slower stronger one with solid foundations, to hold firm and bear fruits?
Always amazes me how this often closes at exactly the same price as the day before - amazeballs !!
Not selling, just drip topping up when I can - in for the marathon and not the sprint - will have to stop looking at the price each day though ;-)
ART - thank you... this message board is a welcome change from the playground one of another.
Yep - stuck in the 3s for quite a while and that’s when I jumped on board at Mid 3....
I know patience is the key
Looking at the very low trades, is it just the people on this board buying and selling? There doesn’t seem to be good movement, even after positive news on such low trades - the patterns of buying and selling appear to show, that this is being purposely kept at a low SP....... a day trader perhaps?
As I’ve said in the past, this is a long term investment for me, but to entice new investors, all the news about other ventures, may not be enough for them to invest, when they see a daily pattern of a share rising and then falling to almost the exact price it started the day at —— uncanny.
Thing is, whilst we invest and drive the price up, the seller is rubbing his hands and selling, driving the price down.
It is frustrating, but we were stuck in the 3s a while back - I’m just topping up as and when, on a low which is tricky for a novice investor. But I’m in no rush....
Oh Heck - You do realise this is the UOG BB and not the TLW shorter de-ramping schoolyard one!!! But thanks for the jovial insight....
Many thanks - myfirstmillion - it’s pleasing to read an honest opinion/angle rather than the playground slander on another BB.
It certainly seems to have ‘legs’ and who knows - maybe I will be mortgage free in a few years!!!
I’m certainly not as edgy with this investment, hopefully it will reward a longer investment.
Thank you.
