Thank you Graham.
I've been so nervous about returning to the board to share progress for fear of a change of events, so to all I hope you understand my reticence.
Whilst in hospital he suffered another setback and became very ill, the surgeons and team at the Royal Victoria hospital Newcastle performed a further operation.
We spent much time crying.
Since Christmas the change in has been joyous to all. Week on week improvement, no setbacks. No wheelchair. Back at school full-time. Playing with other boys.
Laughing and joking.
Last week he went for a swimming lesson and can't wait for the next.
He is very bright and will catch up academically quickly, his interactions with other children the same we trust.
As a family we continue one given day at a time.
Amazing Children's Hospital with so many tiny little ones gravely poorly and mans and angels in shade of blue crying and hoping.
The age of miracles is still with us.
Thank you all for your positive thoughts, best wishes and prayers
Love from Alfie and Grandad.
