Stamp duty does not have to be added for the purpose of monitoring the progress of the £2 billion buyback. I was not making any adjustment for stamp duty until you started poking your nose in and telling me I was doing it wrong and that stamp duty should be added to get an accurate figure. My gut feeling then was to ignore you. Stamp duty is irrelevant for monitoring the progress of the buyback, as confirmed by my email correspondence with the Director of Investor Relations who confirmed that Tax and other associated costs are separate from the £2 billion. Everyone else seems to be happy with my posting. I apologise for my remarks at the end of my last post, they were a spontaneous on the spur of the moment out of frustration at your continual stalking of me every time I post, I should have had more composure. I will be polite this time. Butt out.

Ex dividend date is 7th April. Dividend payment date is 19th May. As long as you are the holder of the shares when market opens on Ex dividend date you are entitled to the dividend. You can sell the shares anytime from then on and still receive the dividend on 19th May.

My posting is relevant to the £2 billion share buyback. It is not relevant to any Investment Plan, which incidentally is not referred to anywhere by Lloyds. I am purely posting updates relevant to the buyback figure announced which Lloyds have confirmed is the actual figure that will be spent buying back the shares. Tax and any other associated costs are separate to that. STOP FECKING STALKING ME YOU FECKING WEIRDO!! FECK OFF W-ANCHOR!!

Barclays downgrades Lloyds 2 days before ex-div? If I remember right did Goldman Sachs not do the same very close to or on interim ex-div date in September? Market Maker shenanigans?! Or am I being cynical?

No, your dividend payment would not have increased if you invested in 2017. So lets assume you invested £100,000 in 2017 in Lloyds at SP 71p. You would have 140,845 shares. So in 2017 with a dividend of 3p your dividend payment would have been £4225. Now for the same 140,845 shares that you purchased in 2017 at SP 71p and 2021 dividend of 2p, your dividend payment would be £2816. That is £1409 less than you received in 2017.

Lets get this into perspective; those who invested in 2017 at SP 71p are now only getting a yield of 2.8% with a 2p dividend, not 4,23%. And that is a reduction of 34% to their income to what it was in 2017! That is not a progressive dividend! lol!
