Hi Everyone,
Update this morning from "Tarkers17" on the ii board. A very big thank you to him.
All the best.

"Morning all,
Just a quick update on AM before the weekend here when she is supposed to head off for sea trials on Saturday.
I went for a quick look yesterday and there’s not much to suggest an imminent departure, although this is a tricky thing to tell.
The only things I can report are that the remaining free drop lifeboats are now in place, there is no scaffold left on deck that I can see, there are a lot less umbilicals connected to the vessel and the off loading spool on the rear of the deck is now loaded with flexible pipe.
Otherwise, things remain the same, the access gantries are still in place, as are a few remaining umbilicals and cables, although these are very easy to remove I suspect.
Deck lights remain on, as they have been for the past few weeks, and as I look across now, the engines (or generators are running), so lets all keep our fingers crossed that when I come into work Sunday morning, there’s a huge gaping hole where the AM has stood for the past many months.

Hi Everyone,
I have to say that I am concerned and a little saddened that the board recently appears to be at loggerheads quite frequently. Having posted and been involved with a number of bulletin boards over the past eight years, I can honestly say that in my opinion, and that of many others, this board is by far the best that I have experienced.
The level and variety of expertise, knowledge and ability of the regular posters here is truly inspiring. There is not one of you that I can say I have not learned something from since joining this board, and in fact even before that, as I have always read the posts here prior to taking my first tentative step into your midst. As many of you are aware I post both here and on the ii board, and I am sure that you also know I often "poach" information from both boards to inform the other. Most of this I do from this board because of the shear volume of interesting and relative posts. I make no excuse for this as I believe that we are all HUR investors and that it is in all of our interest to try to make sure that we are all as fully informed as possible. I would hate to think of a HUR investor selling or not buying because he/she is unaware of the facts. Apart from that, potential "new" investors may well look at either board, but not both, so the same applies.
I suspect and hope that recent disharmony is caused by a combination of, overly and continued very hot weather, perhaps making all of us a bit irritable, vacation time for a lot of the city causing low volume trading and pretty stagnant sp movement, but most importantly fairly imminent opening night nerves,(FOIL) getting ever closer.
Anyway, it is of little consequence what I think. I just hope that the board continues to be the fountain of knowledge it has always been, and that relationships do not become overly strained.
All the best.

"Hi Carliol and all the other LTH’s,
There’s not much news I can tell you over the last few weeks here in Dubai, AM is still in the same position with no sign of any imminent movement, however, I was down there yesterday having a “snoop over the fence” and this is what I could see:
The biggest news is the top section of the flare stack has been loaded on board and stored vertically on the rear, right hand deck, adjacent to the position of the offloading drum.
All scaffold has now been removed from the front green water protection, the communication equipment on top of the forward superstructure and from three deck cranes.
I still see a couple of the free drop life boats that need to be installed (well, I see the sling and rails where they will be installed is still vacant). There are a couple installed already but I would be surprised if the ship went to sea without its full complement of safety equipment, especially one related to O&G.
The umbilicals are still attached and the two yellow access towers are still attached and in position.
From what I can see this morning, there is still one of the dock mounted tower cranes reaching over the vessel, so there is still an amount of loading or heavy lifting going on, though it seems to be concentrated towards the rear, in front of the rear superstructure and not near the turret.
One other major thing, a couple of days ago, I saw a big plume of diesel smoke from the funnels as they presumably fired up the main engines. They then ran them for a few hours. Since then almost daily I can see heat haze from the funnels so again, presumably they are running the engines under test conditions or just to supply the on board generators to power up systems for testing and commissioning.
That’s all I can tell you at the moment. I’m going to be going on leave in a couple of weeks and sods law says after all this build up, I’ll miss the first sea trial departure, but lets see. To remove the umbilicals and the access towers is not a major piece of work, so it could happen in the next hour or next week, who knows.
Sadly we’ve had a horrible dust storm for the last three days, think yourselves lucky in the uk with your 30 degrees, its been in the 40’s here with upto 80% humidity (yuk!) anyway, our new bright white paint work is now coated with a tinge of orange, though I’m sure that’ll disappear the first time it encounters a decent North Sea storm!

Hi Ricfle,
I just felt the need to comment on your very generous and informative post too Ifonly1. I have seen many questions being asked on many boards over the years, which are often completely ignored. It has never made sense to me as it is to all our advantage to encourage as many investors as we can, imo.
Thank you for the link too the "dspp" post. I had forgotten just how knowledgeable and comprehensive it is.
have a good weekend.
All the best.

Hi Everyone,
What I do think, is that as this report was issued yesterday, and Dr Trice clearly stated that there would be no further drilling until the EPS was generating revenue. This imo, is a definite confidence booster for early FOIL.
All the best.

Hi Everyone,
Love them or hate them, I will say one thing for the MMs. They certainly know how to cure constipation, lol.
All the best.

Hi DiveCentre,
Many thanks for that.
I am a lazy so and so, never bothered to look, lol.

Hi Everyone,
Firstly, many thanks to the technical posters for the brilliant information regarding SURF.
Any of the non-technical like myself, who have no idea what a manifold looks like, the following will hopefully help.

Hi SIPPn00b,
I hope you are well.
Yes, I totally agree with you. What I just described is just one of the vagaries of the market. As long as you are not trading and have a target in mind. Best to just keep your eyes on the prize.
All the best.

Hi Genghis15,
I am never surprised in this market. In fact I have now grown to expect it. Traders trading up and going long, followed by trading it down and going short. I just wish I had the knowledge to know when they are going each way, lol. Rinse and repeat.
Fundamentals have little to do with it, apart from when news is due, and it is odd that they invariably know before we do, imo.
All the best.

Hi Everyone,
Nice finish and Brent currently back on it's way up.
Have a great weekend.

Hi Biffadog,
Excellent post. I agree with all of that.
Many thanks.
All the best.

Or even, "apologies", lol.
Hi Genghis15,
"Wrong thread, HTL?"
Yes, sorry you are probably quite correct. I labelled the original post on iii, "HUR as a t/o target ", which was really more what the post was trying to say.
Appologies.
All the best.

Hi Ricfle,
"You are completely correct about the articles and your conclusions that the majors will need to buy existing fields. Looks to me that one year after first oil Hurricane could have the perfect storm of; production, reserves and a high PoO."
Yes, absolutely spot on, and one of the main points I was trying to make. Along with an ever increasingly "needy" audience.
All the best.

Hi Ricfle,
I posted the following earlier on the iii board. As it appears to be of relevance to this thread I have copied and pasted it.

"Hi Everyone,
I tend to view much of what I read from the press with a degree of scepticism. However, when article after article appears repeating the same message, I have to take notice, (see yet another relevant article attached).
That consistent message of late is the very real potential for a future lack of supply in a oil market in which the general consensus says requirement will continue to grow, even allowing for the current push towards EVs and renewables, certainly for the foreseeable future.
I think we are all well aware of the lack of investment among the big oil companies in exploration and development of new sources of oil. That is now starting to be confirmed by the almost weekly reports of ever increasing “drawdowns” on world reserves.
I am aware that many of those companies are beginning to look at investments in future energy sources, under strengthening pressure both from governments and institutional investors. However, they need to continue to produce oil and gas profitably for the foreseeable future to be able to pay for those investments, as what is termed as “peak oil”, is not going to happen for some considerable time, imo.
On that basis they have a current requirement to assure that they have enough reserves in the ground to continue to survive as profitable entities. That means that they either have to spend large amounts of both time and money exploring, finding and developing new sources of oil and gas, or they look to take over existing and proven finds.
It appears to me that Dr Trice has every reason to look confident and pleased with himself. So should all of us investors as well, imo. Providing everything works out well with our EPS and with a few more EPS funded drills, we manage to confirm resources in our various fields, we logically have to be a very attractive target to any of the big oil companies, for the reasons that I have outlined.
This is of course only my own opinion, dyor.
All the best.

Hi DiveCentre,
Yes, I saw it yesterday and did consider copy and pasting it. However, "Tarkers" has now started posting here as well as on the iii board, so took it for granted he would replicate the post himself.
Sorry to one and all.

Hi aduk,
" I've never ridden a horse in my life."
You don't know what you are missing. I did it a lot as a young man. Great fun until they get spooked at full gallop, suddenly veer to one side and you do about five or six somersaults across a field. Happy days, lol.
I must say though, it would make some kind of entrance at the casino.
All the best.

Hi aduk,
"Maybe I should buy a horse"
Well you have got the stetson. I am sure you could rustle up a pair of spurs from somewhere, lol.
Have a good weekend, and many thanks for some excellent post this week, as always.
All the best.
