LONDON (Reuters) - Bglobal (LSE: BGBL.L - news) , which provides smart meters to the retail energy market, said it had signed a contract with British Gas worth more than 12 million pounds, boosting its shares. Bglobal also said Wednesday that revenue for the year to end-March would be in line with expectations but profit would miss forecasts after freezing weather in December and January caused installation of meters to fall below target. Bglobal will supply and install smart meters for Centrica (LSE: CNA.L - news) unit British Gas during 2010. It will also provide data services which will deliver annual revenue of over 1 million pounds, the company said. "The contract win is very positive for the company. We are beginning to see a pick-up in momentum," said Charles Stanley analyst Richard Hickinbotham, who has a 'buy' recommendation and 70 pence target price on the stock. "There are a number of positives which are possible, npower also has a framework agreement with Bglobal and it could, like British Gas, look to make this a firm order," he said. Bglobal said installations had recovered since early January and it expected to benefit from the contract with British Gas Business which would give it more visibility on customer requirements. Charles Stanley cut its 2009-10 forecast to a loss of 1 million pounds from break-even, and cut its 2010-11 profit forecast to 3 million from 4.5 million. Bglobal shares, which had risen 120 percent in the past six months, were up 3.5 percent to 52.25 pence at 0919 GMT, valuing the company at 41 million pounds. (Editing by Matt Scuffham and Dan Lalor)

When is the market going to recognise the potential here? Market Cap. of only £11.32m. and EBITA of £1.4m. in 6 months. IMHO the share price should be twice what it is now!

I'm sure JPM had a whiff of this deal when they bought over 20 million shares mid-December.

Maybe they know something that we don't. One thing that I know for sure is that JPMorgan don't throw money away!

Just committed myself to 20,000 @ 6.985p. On 16th. Dec. JPMorgan bought 17.917,152 @ app. 8.25p. taking their holding to 10.15% of the Company. Not satisfied with that, they bought a further 4,450,000 two days later, taking their holding to 11.10%. If there is no Chinese money, JPMorgan are certainly aware of a Plan B. Anyway. . . . . . . . . I bought mine more than 15% cheaper than they did. Happy just to sit back and watch the show! GL all & DYOR

In reply to the recent publicity being enjoyed by IGAS and their CBM prospects, I thought the following paragraph from ALK's website would be a timely riposte! "In October 2008 we had a report completed on our gas reserves. Whilst these reserve estimates do not translate into directly accessible gas they do indicate the potential of Alkane's licences. The CMM reserves we have in our licence area have been estimated to comprise reserves of up to 4,408 million m3 (3P). In addition, we have a number of licences with Coal Bed Methane (CBM) prospects. Alkane is keeping a watching brief on other companies with CBM operations in the UK and if these prove to be commercially productive then we will evaluate and exploit this opportunity." Exactly what I would do!

If the UK is one of the last countries to implement Feed-in-Tariffs, they must be a good thing! The following has been borrowes from Wikipedia. Three units to install in "facilities" (plural) and family "homes" (plural), just does not add up! One of them must only get ONE. RNS quote below.
