Signs global agreement with Lundbeck giving access to its human tissue samples and drug discovery services

Asterand plc (LSE: ATD), a leading provider of human tissue and human tissue-based services to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies engaged in drug discovery research, today announced that it has extended its collaboration with Bristol-Myers Squibb Company (NYSE: BMY) for access to Asterand's products and services for up to three years. The agreement will focus on access to Asterand's PhaseZERO® drug discovery services and Asterand's XpressBANKTM of human tissue and clinical samples for the continued validation of early drug targets and support for compound optimisation. Asterand CEO Martyn Coombs commented: "This decision by Bristol-Myers Squibb is an important validation of Asterand's products and services. Asterand provides human based solutions that improve decision making during the development of medicines. Our customers incorporate human tissue-based models at all stages of development from target identification to pre-clinical research. We are delighted that Bristol-Myers Squibb has renewed our collaboration and our team looks forward to continuing to support their target validation and compound optimisation programmes." Under the extended collaboration, Asterand will continue to undertake a range of PhaseZERO® studies for Bristol-Myers Squibb in the areas of compound profiling and target validation. PhaseZERO® studies include gene and protein expression profiling and cell-based pharmacology assays. Likewise, Bristol-Myers Squibb will be granted access to Asterand's XpressBANKTM of human tissue, bio-fluid, and cell lines and may also utilize Asterand's ProCURETM custom clinical sample collection service.

this is being held back at the moment for big buy ins and to free up the shares with a shakey shakey. not working here mm's we know what the results are going to be and we know where the sp will be when they come out.

that is a sexy entry point mate. I am similar 1.45p a few would like those entry levels now. the figures dont lie. this is a company that has traded 2p range for years yet this year, with the aquisitions the company is 3 or 4 times larger with a massive order book. results will send us past 4p IMO but looks like we could get there before? well done mate.

based on ebita 1.4mn so if we get 6mn profit as expected thats 4times 3.6p x 4 (crude I know but along the lines of p/e x10) 14p potential target price these are just my rough figures so by no means gospel. check out the recent volumes though massive for this share over the last few days! hope this helps? let me know if you get in

Acquisition of new contracts Highlights: * Acquisition of contracts worth £10m per annum for a total cash consideration of £99,000 * Contracts acquired from administrators of Craft Services Group * Acquisition makes SectorGuard a top 10 provider in UK manned guarding SectorGuard plc has, through its 100% owned subsidiary Legion Services Limited, acquired the contracts of Craft Services Group Limited (in administration) for a consideration of £99,000. The contracts with an annual value of £10m provide security and facilities services to shopping centres, property groups and commercial organisations. This addition further strengthens SectorGuard's market share within these sectors following quickly on from the Legion Group plc acquisition. Some 400 employees of Craft Services Group Limited have transferred (under TUPE conditions) over to Legion Group plc along with a number of the management team. SectorGuard plc is now a Top 10 provider of manned guarding within the UK and has over 3,200 employees group-wide. The Company will continue with its integration plan of both business units and has identified approximately £3m of consolidation savings per annum in the process. The integration process will be completed by the end of May 2009.
