Bayfield Energy (AIM: BEH), an independent oil and gas exploration and production group with key assets in Trinidad and Tobago, has announced the spud of the second well in its exploration and appraisal programme in the offshore Galeota Licence Area, designated EG7. The well spudded on 4 April 2012 and is being drilled by the Rowan Gorilla III jack-up rig, following on from EG8, which was suspended as an oil and gas discovery in March following successful drilling results. The well is located in 112 ft (34 m) of water and lies approximately 800m east of well EG1, which encountered oil in 1964. EG7 is planned to be drilled to a total depth of approximately 8,485 ft (2,586 m, measured depth below rotary table) and will be deviated to the south-east from the surface location to investigate the Lower Pliocene to Upper Miocene stacked shallow marine sandstone reservoirs encountered in the previous discovery wells EG1 (1964) and COS1 (1985).

TD in 3 weeks. exploration well but targetting previous discoveries with Direct hydrocarbon indicators on the 3d seismic that BEH acquired in 2010. very low risk exploration well. rallied to 80p on last successful drill a few weeks back.

south africa license current finds are gas yes. the company intend to target different structures to previous discoveries and thus the source rocks may be less mature or have a shallower depth of burial which could mean oil. to target different structures means they have something up their sleeves. there are some oil fields nearby which suggests some of the source rocks must be less mature.

if the market is decent you will smash through that average on the run up to TD I am sure of that. if the co could announce 2000bopd before td then 100p will be easily achievable on the discovery rns

we are the opposite. we all have a bit of banter, throw in some research and try to make the bb as friendly and informed as possible. you are more than welcome to check my posting history. whilst i might be 'noisy' i do research properly and post my thoughts. this share has been discussed for weeks off the boards and a lot of the 'newcomers' have thoroughly researched the proposals, production bod etc and notes have been exchanged in their hundreds. we have a close nit set of investors that discuss the pros and cons off air and then we decide if or when we buy. much like a institution would do . now whilst some may see this is a herd mentality i would like to point them in the direction of the last few shares this 'bunch entered' all of which have seen 100 -300% gains in the last few months. so no we are not quiet folk but we do have a decent track record and we do like to see a winner or two

td 3 weeks away. trading pattern changed yesterday with two large buys which have been rare over the retrace. could have a production update before td. last slant rig drill (producers) encountered 225ft net pay. the biggest yet and was a good result flowed 400bopd. production was 1200 bopd at the end of jan.

60P IPO. since then production has grown and made an oil and gas discovery. currently drilling the second low risk exploration well
