I’ve spent the last 25 years since ‘96 working as an Expat, first in PNG for 12 years (giant Porgera Mine and Lihir Island - both million ounce pa sulphide gold) and 5 countries on the African continent since 2006. Mostly gold but now in graphite - for refractory and electric vehicle batteries. I miss gold but graphite will become much more exciting in the medium term.

In today's Telegraph it states that Kwasi Kwarteng (our energy minister) rates hydrogen as one of his ''top priorities''.
In June this year I wrote to my MP as we had recently paid some £9M to shut down a wind farm due to lack of demand. I suggested instead of this madness the 'waste electricity' could be put to use to produce hydrogen. (as is done on one of the Scottish islands). This was passed to the energy ministry.
I received a page of verbiage from the ministry, with no suggestion that they had any intention of planning for this in the future, so I am not sure of KKs commitment to hydrogen despite his assurances.

Proton Technologies in Canada may have the answer suggesting cost could be C$0.1/KG.

If it makes AFC profitable, what's the issue.

Telfer asset (7.56 – 8:52):
large gold producer in what has now become a highly prospective region;
has operated for a number of decades now and its current feed grades have become quite low, making it an expensive operation;
real value of Telfer is its established infrastructure in an otherwise very remote area - Telfer’s camp, process plant, gas pipeline, power station, airport places it in prime position to participate in new discoveries in the region, one such example is the Havieron deposit which Newcrest is on track to own 70% of through a farm-in agreement
Havieron exploration (17:31 : 18:57):
very excited about the results seen at the Havieron project, located 45km east of Telfer, in WA;
drill results are frankly are nothing like we have ever seen in the region and most likely going to lead to this deposit to being developed as a top priority with the ore being processed at Telfer;
positive results seen have encouraged us to increase FY20 expenditure guidance by $25M;
drill another 25km -30km in H2 to support potential delivery of a resource by end of this calendar year;
drilling will inform studies currently underway designed to identify the optimal path forward for the potential future mine;
we are looking at initially possibility of high grade, long hole, open-stoping operation, with further potential beyond that of developing a bulk underground mine at a later date, which could either be a sub level cave or maybe either block cave;
study is also investigating how to get the material to Telfer;
we are looking to start this decline this calendar year
